Welcome back, and so did I. Turns out there was toast on the psu connection.

My constant junking and salvaging of old computers means I almost always have backup parts for my computer when something breaks.

Though I'm currently limited on power supplies.

I only have one spare.

But I have two spare GPUs, 12gb of spare RAM, ~8gb of spare laptop RAM, two spare mice and keyboards, and a small TV I can use as a monitor if the EDID in mine goes bad (again, and if I can't fix it again).

I use my new laptop for gaming, but I still use my old one when I go somewhere and don't want anything to get stolen. My other one got turned into a desktop.

Just take the screen out of your spare laptop and buy a 40$ controller board, cheaper than buying a new one.

THAT'S MY ASSORTED JUNK!

*grabs RAM chip, begins waving it around like a knife*

*grabs spare keyboard and uses as sword*

My computer is two towers somewhat wired into each other through their respective power supplies.

Radiant PC you got there

8 years of painfully slow computer assembly really makes you stop giving a damn.

When I finally got the good stuff put into the tower on the right and realized I had no way to power some of it (the psu in that tower was not enough) I just decided "screw it, I'll plug the old computer into it too".

Works fantastically.

I try to keep it running the best I can.

It's the result of the last 8 years of work.

Can't let it break down permanently.

Hence the spare part hording.
