Red Critical Hits ?

Hi, occasionally i will get red hits that does way more than the normal (yellow) critical, i got a 1300+ charged attack on my rank 7 furax.

How and where do they come from ?

EDIT: my normal crit does 360, so 1300 was way above 2x a normal crit.

It was done on a stuck enemy in a defense map which was behind one of the doors.

I too have been noticing these new red numbers and were wondering what they were.

I always thought they were backstab criticals~

I normally get them when I'm using Smoke screen with ash~

then attacking enemies in the back or with a charged attack~

But i'm not 100% sure if thats a true thing really~

Was it a punch to the face? That might be a 'headshot' which does more damage than normal criticals.

edit: Oh yes, it may well be an attack on an unaware enemy. Such as if you're 'stealthed' or 'smoked' or while sneaking.

Red crits are rarer crits that I think deals twice the damage of a normal yellow crit.

What I surely do know is that it's extra fun when enemies gets split apart and launched after a red-crit charge punch

EDIT: Most of my stealth kills are just yellow-crits, though?

updated my first post stating where I saw it and my normal crit dmg.

Anyone have any data on the crit multipliers on melee weapons ?
