MECT_HET
There is no good reason to ever think this is a good idea. Don't like rainbow builds? Fine. Guess what? Don't USE one!! Why should the rest of us be forced to conform to your restrictions just because you don't like it? Well, this is not about liking or hating. ATM you HAVE to use rainbows because they are much more powerrful than a regular/physical/faction base builds. Sad but true.
Feauce
You have to invest a lot in terms of both slots and mod points to really get the most out of a rainbow build. And with a weapon like Soma, trying to do both that and max crit damage leaves a lot of cost-benefit decisions to be made. This is even more true if you want to add things like Split Chamber, Metal Auger, etc. Sure, mixing elements was the best option, even before U11's changes to the damage system, but you could easily get by with only two if you wanted. Maybe even only one if you went with Fire, since that kills pretty much everything just as well and has two mods on both rifles and shotguns.
