Mesa's fourth ablity with Emerald Shard

While having electricity damage on Regulators and equipping Archon Stretch on Mesa, I can trigger Archon Stretch's effect by attacking enemy with Regulators, besides, it can also trigger other Archon mod's effect with the right damage type on Regulators. So, I assume the damage dealt by Regulators is considered as ability damage, but after i imbue a Emerald Archon Shard which gain +15% ability damage on enemies affected by Corrosion Status to Mesa and test it, i found that the damage remains the same. I wonder if it is intended or a bug.
