I'd like to take a moment to go through the procedure of signing up & getting in-game.

Type in details

Hit Sign Up

Recieve conflicting notifications about which characters are allowed

No mention of min/max length of username or password

No option to check if a username is available

Eventually sign up/download game

Launch game

No copy paste ability in login prompt

<Optional> Smash face into desk

Manually type in huge email + 32 character secure password

No ability to check if the password is correct because it's shown as asterisks

Uninstalled.

Though they could be more descriptive with requirements, everything you just complained about like having to repick a name, not being able to see your password typed in, no copy paste ability and etc are done on a lot of MMOs. You should have made it a more manageable password and email for yourself, that kind of paranoia is only going to make it annoying for you in the long run.

Not like you can't easily create an alternate e-mail just to play this game, that isnt some monolith of an account name, and a simple but usable password. On top of that you can just refrain from doing things that might result in you getting hacked if that is what you are worried about.

we'd like to know what the maximum character length is.

 

for example some games by Perfectworld Entertainment won't accept passwords longer than 12 characters. The PWE website can handle 32 characters but they advise to use lengths of 12-14 so your password can be compatible with all their games.

 

That's a real short password. So, how long can we make our Warframe passwords and what type of characters can we use?
