Expandir, The Next Level In Gear Customization

We all have those weapons, the ones that we absolutely love and poor hours of grinding and many forma into to make them really shine. And at the end you have a beautiful weapon that can, if you pardon my language, kick &#!. But you know that weapon could be so much more, if you could just fit that other mod into the build somehow.

 

That's where the Expandir comes into play, think of it as the Forma's big brother. Where the Forma shapes, the Expandir grows, adding an additional mod slot to your gear. This might sound pretty powerful at first but when you think about it, it takes a lot of work to max out all the slots on a weapon, but adding another mod into the mix? That'll take a lot more polarized slots to pull off.

 

Of course this has a few catches, first, like the reactors and catalysts, the Expandir is only usable once per item, next it is harder to obtain and craft then other gear modifying items, possibly requiring a forma or catalyst to craft. And finally, like the Forma, it would need the item in question to be level 30 before being able to be used and then reset the level of the item. Great things have a great cost after all, but its worth it.

 

So yeah, that's the idea.

No. Forma is enough.

Maybe make it so the item to be expandir'd has to have been forma'd at least 3 times. This way, it takes a lot of love for anyone to consider it, and then more work to make it pay off

Even the devs admitted that there should be a way of adding more mod slots so no, apparently Forma isn't enough.
