Burston is pretty good. Much better the the vanilla version. You can even snipe with it !

To the TS, what Prime weapons do you already own? Among all the Prime primaries I think these are solid:

 

Boar Prime - high DPS boss killer (but not ammo efficient)

Braton Prime - competent automatic rifle for elemental builds, quite accurate

Burston Prime - high damage per shot, good status chance, vastly improved recoil/bullet climb over the vanilla model, high accuracy (but some people hate the burst mechanic so YMMV)

What do you have already? What rank are you?

Prime... right...  I recommend Braton Prime. Boar and Burston end up funneled towards playstyles. Braton's automatic fire and acceptable accuracy make it far more flexible. I'm a high rank though. If you're just coming from Braton / Soma at a low rank that might be boring.

At the moment you have the choice between:

 

Paris Prime

Latron Prime

Burston Prime

Boar Prime

Braton Prime

 

 

Want a spray and pray sort of gun? Take the Braton Prime or Boar Prime

 

Want precision? Paris Prime, Latron Prime or Burston Prime

 

Want a relatively balanced damage type of weapon? Burston Prime

 

Want Puncture focused weapon? Paris Prime or Latron Prime

 

Want Impact focused weapon? Boar Prime

 

Want Slash focused weapon? Braton Prime

 

Take your pick.

Honestly, every prime is pretty crappy right now.

 

Unless used in situational combat as such,

Burston, really shines in PvP as a Stat marksman weapon over the Latron Prime.

Boar, High DPS, but not conventional. 

 

Again, you're better off "maining" clan tech or something useful in harder level gameplay. Should be noted that maining in warframe is nonexistent if you plan on anything harder.

 

My suggestion, "main" a few weapons. To answer the topic, my recommendation is the Burston Prime. At least until they Prime the Vectis. Then Vectis for sure.

seeing you mentioned a NEW prime, i suspect you already have a prime primary?

if you don't have it already, Boar prime sounds like a good choice. (don't have it myself but i hear it's pretty powerful, even outmatching the Strun Wraith)

if it so happens you already ranked the Boar Prime, i've enjoyed ranking up Paris Prime and Latron Prime.

Can't say anything about the Braton prime though since i don't own it and haven't heard anything particular about it.

I think Burston. Forget what someone else said about it being PvP. It is more ammo efficent then most fully autos, but it can still mow down advancing armies of grineer and corpus, and with malignant force and blast, will keep down most enemies. including cap targets.
