Second Trial For Level 3 Using Furax- Weapon Not Detected?

So first of all, when I started the melee only trial, I was told to use my pistol. Secondly, I appeared to have no weapons equipped, though my melee attacks did animate with the Furax moveset properly.

Thirdly, my attacks either didn't register on hit, or had massive lag =/ Power hit enemies a handful of times, then alternatively saw an enemy I had hit quite a bit ago flying through the air, bisected.

Was taking damage normally, no input lag, played a match fine before and after, so the issues seemed tied to the level.
