BizarreFetalChimpanzee
I think part of the problem with this gametype in general is we have so many other gamemodes that are basically: go somewhere, camp, rush to the end. This, however, is hectic and filled with a lot of moving around to keep points under your control (unless you have all players stake down a point, which is unfun imo but onto the subject at hand). In turn, we end up with players that are used to doing one thing and suddenly being thrown into another thing entirely. It's like going from Battlefield to Unreal Tournament. Another huge problem I've noticed both from feedback on the forums and feedback ingame is that a lot of players are surprisingly unfamiliar with the domination/conquest gametype, leading to them having an extremely hard time in Interception, due to a lack of knowledge of how domination exactly works.
