Using Forums From Steam

I encountered a small bug after purchasing a founder pack from steam. I was in the game (launched from steam) and I clicked "buy platinum" in game which opened my browser to the platinum page. From there I bought the founder pack and wanted to give the forums a try. I clicked forums on the community tab but I was getting rejected. It said:

[size=3]You must signup and activate your account with a beta key before you can log in to the forums[/size]

Obviously I had already done this so I figured it had something to do with using the steam version. I'm only assuming, though. I managed to fix it by logging out and back in.
