Journey follows the lone Excalibur awoken from cryo sleep, begining plays out like the cutscene in the begining of the game. Each warframe is one character, with their own personality and powers, so we don't have an army so much as a small group of badasses.

 

As they fight, they come to suspect there's something more sinister than simply the corpus and grineer, something pulling the strings, it is then that they realize it's all part of a master plan by the infested hivemind, a single being of untold power who controls all the infested, and who's used the corpus and grineer as puppets to spread the infestation. Our heroes find the being, but are completely overpowered, and barely escape intact, excalibur escapes, but goes back to save his friends, as they saved him in the beginning, but on their way back, they discover a secret orokin artifact that transforms Excalibur into Excalibur prime, who is able to get everyone out safely, Our heroes discover they all have the potential to become prime warframes! They then set off to prime themselves and their weapons to defeat this menace, but they know it's not enough, they must recruit the corpus and grineer in the battle! The grineer, after lots of convincing, agree to help on the condition that our heroes can face the grineer's best soldiers in the ring of battle and come out on top! The corpus agree on the terms that the teno find them a legendary orokin artifact that can transform energy to matter and matter to energy with perfect efficiency. Once our tenno heroes do these things, a final assault is formed, and after a hard battle, the hivemind is destroyed.

 

However, they are stabbed in the back! Alad V has been using this time of peace as an opportunity to secretly study the tenno, grineer, and infested, and he's secretly developed a hormone to control the grineer clones, and taken control of the infested from the hivemind. Now he's made a moon-sized battleship, with all the technology of all the races, even the tenno, as he's continued his zanuka project. The only thing stopping him is that his technique to control the tenno has failed, since it would only work against un-primed tenno, so now our heroes must uncover all the ancient orokin technology to rebuild ancient orokin battlesuits to defeat Alad V and his vast army of grineer, corpus, and infested.

 

Along the way, they are hunted by the stalker, but after Alad V's betrayal, he joins the tenno, showing them how to use orokin technology, and the art of the assasin.
