It seems to me that the way materials work, there's a chance that you could gain profit. If you think about it, wouldn't it make sense to sell materials? You can sell some very common materials. There's also a possibility of selling it to other players. For example, lets say someone needs a lot of a common material. Someone has it and doesn't need it. Person A can find that person B and make a transaction. Or, you could sell the materials at the inventory section of you arsenal. The less rare a material is, the less valued it is. If it's one of those extremely abundant materials, it could be sold in tiny groups for 1 credit (like 3 ferrite per credit). The more rarer materials could be more valued like gallium is worth 500 per peice. Please give me feedback and ideas for this post.

An absolute no-brainer. If we can sell BP, why not materials too?
