It could be an alternate way to obtain blueprints for people that are not favoured by the RNG. Research would take between 3 and 6 hours (Random). Longer times have a slightly higher chance to get something rare. Possible Research Results: Item Experience for a random weapon that you own and that is not at the Max Level yet (Very Common) Item Levelup (Uncommon) of an equipped item that is not yet at the Max Level (Uncommon) Random Common Blueprint (Common) Random Uncommon Blueprint (Uncommon) Random Rare Blueprint (Rare) Random Common Mod (Common) Random Uncommon Mod (Uncommon) Random Rare Mod (Rare) Meditate upon this! Though the ability to potentially 'find' rare mods and BP's while able to play missions sounds good. I think there should be multiple research levels though; higher research levels cost more and either have a better chance of good loot or take less time. rhoenix Posted April 12, 2013 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Why not? The devs already alluded to "resetting" a frame, with the bonus of adding an affinity slot to it of your choice.
