Rescue Missions (Npc Health)

Hello, 

today I had my first bad experience with this great game. There was an Alert mission with "?" in it, objective was to rescue a hostage. 
Hostage started acting strangely, running circles, trying to follow us through different floors (same pathing different elevation). So I tried to walk it through by doing little steps at a time, still it was stuck running circles in one of the vent rooms, beneath the stairs. 
We left him for 1 min, to do another objective and run back. The mine laying enemies stacked, put like a gazzilion of mines on the ground, hostage decided to run through them and died instantly. 
We lost our "?" reward because it is a timed mission and we couldn't do it again. That caused a lot of frustration, because it is unfair. We can't restrict AI path finding to avoid mines. 

Just wished to share this, maybe make NPCs immune to explosive damage?

He is weak and pathetic. PLEASE make him smart enough to duck and cover. I'm fine if he never uses his gun (as an aside, take the gun away if he can't fight) but have him constantly be under as much cover as possible or sprinting to move to the next cover. Escort missions aren't fun when your escort target is an idiot.

Funny thing is on 99 % of missions hostage level is 1, i remember we received sabotage mission which changed to rescue right at the tanks there was a hostage lvl 64, our enemies were around 40-45.

Why can't we have immortal fixed level hostage till his/her AI gets evolved and level scaling is functional, MMOs use same they give them raw damage reduction because it easier.
