Solution For Not Losing Due To Rushers?

Tell me what you people think of this.

If there was consumable that would teleport you to a desired player in your team. So in those cases where you are trying to clear a room wondering why it's taking so long only to find out that you have no one backing you up, and they are already at the extraction you can just click on this consumable, then a player name then maybe an interuptable cast time to prevent just porting out of a near dead situation.

It would cost about 15000 credits for one in the store that way people who would have the idea to just free load on a team and then teleport to extraction would be losing money buying one for every mission.

But you have your ultimate abilities  which most people save for those kind of situations and most times gets them the breathing room they need to either escape or recharge and get back at it. Plus, I don't see many people stay back and clear every room on the way to extraction unless it's absolutely necessary. I'd blame the person that stays behind and the rushers that get ahead. I tend to either keep up with someone who's going at a good/moderate speed or go at my own pace, letting the rushers do their thing and the thorough/slower to do theirs. I wouldn't really see the investment in this, people would just spam it and start the countdown no doubt.

I gave one example of when it could be useful. I don't mean to focus on that particular subject. I'm just addressing being left behind by rushers in general.

If you're being left behind and don't have the proper loadout, the wise thing to do would be to rush on ahead as well, it's what I do when running with new frames, people ain't gonna wait for me, so I just leave what I'm doing, not going to risk it. I try to get people that stay behind, but usually they're really behind >.< now that there's vast credit rewards, I could see players taking to using it knowing they'l be "refunded" quickly. As long as you're not one of the few that stay behind because they have to kill everything they see, then yeah sounds useful for your situation ,but if you are then no, why cater to poor decision making?

rush with strangers, loot with friends. thats my tactic.

No one is waiting for you when you farm a boss and i dont think anyone should be punished for their playstyle (not anymore though). Just search for people who want to farm with you (they are out there - even in public games!)

Yes yes. There always is the option to just rush with the rushers. So let's rename the game to "Outrun All the Infested On-line".

I don't think I've ever rushed infested, only in the beginning when I started playing and doing solo runs, now I have weapons to easily dispatch infested. Like I said before, I don't rush, I move at a decent speed. If there's an area with enemies, I'll take care of those in my path, I'm not going to scout the whole area just to clear it out, that's a waste of time to me, objective completed or not. I don't consider people moving at a good speed rushers, but they're accused of it simply because there's people that have to open everything and kill everything, they're the slow ones.

Buy Volt, equip speed, and then you can go at whatever pace you want because you can always catch up.

Regardless, if all mission objectives are done, you know everyone rushed ahead, and you are playing with strangers, maybe you shouldn't be trying to clear out every room.

This is everything that is wrong with this game right now.   You have to leave what you are doing to go and catch up?  One of those people who have to kill everything they see, in a videogame that is clearly a shooter!?   Is this a swords and guns video game or a race to the finish line?   I can't be immersed in these environments that were clearly designed to be immersive, or take the time to shoot a few bad guys because I have to catch up with some guy who thinks that racing through the map at blur speed is what this game is for.   Why don't they just change the game so that the match ends as soon as the objective is completed or take out the bad guys altogether.   Avoid all that tiresome running and fighting.

They should make a mode called Rush so that those who have a problem using their  weapons can all play together or whatever it is that they're doing.

AOD_sepulchrave is right, That's one reason that I "mostly" play with a friend or on solo. Time is of the essence and one time I did had to get back for something, bam lockdown in effect, missed all the action, got left behind when doors where unlocked I had to rush to the end... frustrating!

Second time I was doing the prerequisite of a mission (resque a prisoner) and because of a lack of information (I am not complaining), the team got squattered all around the map... when I was done and was reaching to the end with no rush (as I thought that the game would had point that to the others), the guys that was all around had to rush to get back at the  end, unfortunally the game disconnected me at the end of the countdown...which was weird but whatever.

P.S. Sorry for the ponctuation and the grammar (and the ortho) but english isn't my native.

I couldn't agree more, except for trolls obviously, rushers in public games are the worst sort of player in this game. I always ask them to slow down and wait but the scum never listen and they never cancel the countdown and wait for others to catch up. If the idea of playing the game properly and actually fighting doesn't appeal to you then what the hell are you doing playing in the first place? But if you really want to rush then do it in a private game and stop being such an arsehole in public games where not everyone wants to be forced into your playstyle. Numerous times I've been shafted on the mission rewards because of rushers and I've been killed a lot of times too because my backup pissed off.  And don't get me started on them using elevators before other people get to them.

I don't want a way to catch up with rushers I want a way to smite them for ruining other people's enjoyment of the game because they can't be bothered to spend an extra couple of minutes playing.

Its simple, the game needs a tether system akin to several other coop games on the Xbox, where if you walk too far away from the group EVERYBODY DIES AND THEIR COMPUTER EXPLODES IN THEIR FACE! THEN A DE REPRESENTATIVE COMES IN AND BREAKS ALL THEIR KNEECAPS AND FINGERS SO THEY NEVER PLAY ANYTHING EVER AGAIN.

You know, just a friendly suggestion.

I've let a a lot of rushers die...they like to go ahead and then get swamped and I just stand there...they'll use revive just to end up dying again. And sometimes they'll start raging and insulting and what not, and they'll quit or stay, but it's fun to mess with them : D OR they ask for help opening doors when the rest of us are still clearing the way to where the rusher is stuck at.

Elevators...boy, there's some that will wait and once you're right outside they'll hit the button, there's also the Loki trolls and their swapping ability ¬.¬   meh, the trolls will just be there annoying the heck out of everyone, and I'll still let them die or get halfway through reviving and leave them to die, it's the best I can do for now.

I've always enjoyed the constant flame wars between rushers and looters. I can literally copy and paste basic arguements, just change around some rush/loot specific phrases, and I have the other side's argument in a nutshell.

If the team's going through a level pretty quickly, I start moving to keep up. If the team happens to made up of looters, I slow down/double back regularly. In both cases, stubbornly sticking to the "proper" playstyle does nothing but cost me, and potentially the team, valuable mods.

Trolling either side doesn't help anything, it just makes the situation worse, makes both sides more vindictive. I've revived or tried to revive people who rushed on ahead of me, and I double back to "escort" looters while marking mods that are in hard to spot places. A lot of times, I found that other players in randoms'll be pretty courteous too. But hey, what the heck do I know?

If anything we should rename this game to "Try to have fun while Stop Having Fun Guys yell at you all the time for not being fast/slow enough".

The thing is that fighting your way through a mission, especially the harder ones is more challenging than just running past everything so if you're fighting then there is more need of a group. Whenever I've wanted to rush though I've always done it on solo mode so that I for starters don't have to wait for anyone to catch up and secondly so I don't ruin the fun other people could be having.

There is no two ways about it, if you want to rush then play on solo or on private with friends.
