Fire And Ice Levels, 10 Ideas. Version 2.

I think the fire and ice levels could use some more atmospheric effects than just the patches of fire and ice. Would appreciate feedback on the following

 

Frozen levels.

1. Doors take a moment longer to react and creak open slowly. They also close very slowly.

2. Icicles on the ceiling in large rooms. If they're shot, they drop and do major damage to enemies underneath them.

3. Containers encased in ice that have to be hit with a fire-element attack before they can be opened.

4. Occasional enemy that is 'half frozen,' double HP but slowed.

5. Shields are still halved, but shields also recharge faster due to lack of overheating.

 

Fire levels

1. Doors take a moment longer to react and stutter when opening. They open halfway, pause, and then grind the rest of the way open. Some doors will also 'stick' open with an extra grinding sound.

2. Smoke and haze that reduces visibility in the hallways and low-ceiling areas. High ceiling areas have the smoke up higher and thus not affecting the player.

3. Some doors malfunction and have to be destroyed to get through. Could also be piles of rubble that block passageways and need to be destroyed to pass through.

4. A hallway completely engulfed in fire. To put it out you have to blow out the window, which puts out the fire,

5. Fuel leak event. The fire in a room starts to spread and a console has to be hacked to stop it.
