amppi
I love how the game, matchmaking and hosting works, but the bandwidth you need to host a game is just something unbelievable. With my current 1Mbps upload (which i find pretty common), its impossible to host a 4 player game without anyone lagging, add a voice-comm program and others cant make up a word i say because of the lag. I hope you could somehow look into this issue and make it a little bit lighter on bandwidth, i dont know if its possible or easy, but would improve gameplay a lot. Knowing when enemies actually die, not getting hit when nothing should be near etc. I did check out the numbers for a quite a while with traffic analyzer, playing a game as a non-host, its around 20-30KB/s download and less than 5KB/s upload. But as a host for 3 other players, 80-100KB/s upload. Hosting 2 other players it drops to under 80KB/s and is ok to play.
Enot83
I'm almost more curious if its not the bandwidth required, but the distance the data is being sent in this case. Meaning this is more of a ping issue than bandwidth issue.
