Melee Mechanics Improvement Idea: Combos

Pulling ideas from other games, perhaps it would be a good idea if the charge attack was a different key than regular attack.  Call them A and C, C for charge attack.  Then we could have combos that use different combinations of light and heavy attacks to achieve different effects.  Something like AAA could be a standard regular attack sequence, but AAC could end with an uppercut or AoE, ACA could be a foot sweep or other knockdown, ACC could be a short dash on the third swing, or a stun, or they all could depend on the weapon.

 

Melee in general needs help, non charge attacks in particular, as pressure point is a weak mod, and melee weapons have nothing like multishot going for them, leaving them behind on a multiplier.
