Ground Attacks Are Poorly Implemented

Attacking an enemy with the unique animation as it is grounded does about the same amount of damage as a charge attack, but with a ridiculously long animation that leaves me open to attacks from other enemies, as well as the dude I am actually attacking if he survives it and gets back up in time. I would get more dps on a grounded opponent by just spamming charge attacks, but because of the arc It wont hit them until they start to get up. So instead I just sort of stand there awkwardly and shoot at a grounded opponent until they die. 

The fact that using a coup de grace on an incapacitated opponent can be more punitive than normal melee attacks in the middle of a fight is abysmal design on the part of DE. Either buff the damage by about triple or cut the animation so its just a second or so long. Slower than a regular melee attack, but significantly faster than a charge attack. If i go to the trouble of knocking someone down, don't then punish me with that horrible ground attack. I currently have no reason to use the ground attack over jsut shooting grounded opponents.
