Roukoswarf Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) A quick and simple idea for fixing the alert RNG annoyance which has many players yelling and screaming, especially after the release of the latest RNG alert only warframe. This suggestion takes into account that DE needs to maintain their business model and not make it easy to quickly gather every item desired. First, break all alert rewards into 5 categories (one of these is new to this suggestion). - Mods - Credits - Potatoes - Weapon blueprints - Warframe blueprints Next, make these alert's likeliness of spawning based on the number of items currently available in each category or a another metric/manually entered chances. Example chances: - Mods = 30% chance - Credits = 30% chance - Potatoes = 5% chance - Weapon blueprints = 20% chance - Warframe blueprints = 15% chance Once the alert type is decided, three rewards of the associated type can be generated, allowing the user upon completion to choose what may be most useful to them. The mod category is intended to replace the large abundance of useless credit only missions which are often not completed by high level players. The mod category could also remain random per player instead of a equal drop for all, allowing for drop calculations based on hours played, rank, and other metrics to allow for drops that may be more valuable to a player who is farming endlessly for that one mod. I believe this could remove the frustration from the current RNG system for most users, raising entertainment value while not jeopardizing the current business model. Thoughts? Bowac Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) umm you forgot the artifacts, then how would people get them. the alert system is fine the way it is its a RNG system giveing out the item is rngs and at that time other which gives everyone equal chance to get it,not matter where you are in the world. Roukoswarf Posted May 21, 2013 Author Share Posted May 21, 2013 I did forget artifacts, they could have a 10-20% chance if you equally remove some chance from all other categories. Simple forgetfulness, they could also be part of the "Mods" pool. There have been many complaints about the RNG system, even in posts by Rebecca in the community hot topics.
