Hosting, Domains, And Emails.

Hi, I'm going to set up a website for my father's shop. I noticed that my country's hosting services provide unlimited email boxes, but emails aren't mentioned anywhere on the places that sell domains. Then I notced a foreign website that had cheaper domain prices that offered adding email to the domain fo additional tax. So now I'm confused, what do I have to do to actually get an email like name@website.com? Does the email need to be supported by both the domain and hosting services? But then again all hosting services in my country also sell domains and I even have an option to get hosting+domain and emails are only ever mentioned in the hosting part.

I'm not very web hosting savvy, but I've bought some domains for no real reason and I have used external email thingies because it's easier. If you let Google or Outlook manage your email it will be good. Both of them used to have a free and really useful category but now it's gone.

I personally prefer Google Apps. (Since then you can use all the perks a google account gives you)

Google http://apps.google.com

Outlook http://domains.live.com

So my suggestion is to get hosting and domain from your favorite registrar and let Gmail or Outlook solve your email problems.

I believe GoDaddy offers email too and it's cheap, but I have never tried it.
