Orokin Proxy

Just an idea I had that I wanted to throw out and see what people thought about it.  See what kind of support/resistance it got.

 

This idea stems from my experience with game play.  Basically, I find myself constantly getting new weapons/frames/sentinels to level simply because using maxed out gear seems wasteful.  Once it's all maxed there isn't any progress to be made with it so I shelve my new max level gear and start all over with something unranked to gain more mastery.  Perhaps this is a neurotic need of mine that others do not share.  I enjoy using my favorite level 30 gear much more than leveling something new but it seems like a waste.

 

My idea is to add an item similar in practice to an Orokin Catalyst/Reactor.  The Orokin Proxy.  This would be an item gained either through platinum purchase in the market or login/defense rewards of the pattern.  The item would be single use.  How it would work is you apply it to a frame, weapon, sentinel or sentinel weapon that is not currently equipped.  Then you use your favorite corresponding in type level 30 item you worked so hard on and a fraction, around 50% perhaps, of the affinity gained by the currently equipped item would be applied to the item with the proxy on it.  Once the proxied item reaches level 30 the effect is removed.

 

This, to me, would give people more enjoyment because they are using the items they want to use and give them at least a percentage of the affinity that is just being wasted.  Increasing possible enjoyment twofold.
