If you had 225 platinum to buy 1 of these frames, which one would you buy? (Trinity, Ember, Nyx, Saryn)

Trinity and Ember are laughably easy to farm from some of the lowest level systems, so those are out. I would not spend money on them.

Nyx if you like using abilities since she has higher base power and larger effects along with a V polarity (Damage or Duration), and Saryn if you prefer guns and swords since she's tougher and has a self buff and comes with a D polarity (Defenses like shields, health, and armor.).

I agree. I wouldn't buy Trinity or Ember, since the bosses they drop from are so easy to defeat. Ember is my current favourite of the above-mentioned warframes, but I didn't purchase her.

Trinity: Trinity's ability to regen health and energy for the entire team is unique, there's nothing else like it. But it's only useful if the mission's going badly, or if the battle's so hard you really need that energy regen. It's good on high level missions, especially high level defense and tough boss battles. But not elsewhere in the game.

Ember: Ember's first power, Fireball, is kind of useless. But Overheat and World of Fire are very good, and Fire Blast can be quite useful in certain situations. She's a combination of tankiness (due to the high damage resist granted by Overheat) and damage. Saryn is also a combination of the above, but Ember's more straightforward and direct than Saryn.

Nyx: Nyx's mostly about the two crowd control powers. Mind Control and Chaos. Absorb's potentially useful as an 'oh crap' button, but that's very situational. Mind Control and Chaos are excellent, particularly on defense missions, but they do basically jack-all against bosses and the Stalker. Mind Control doesn't work on bosses, Chaos does - but Chaos only makes enemies randomly attack what's closest to them. That may be another enemy, but it may also be you.

Saryn: Saryn is more of a thinking player's jack-of-all-trades than Ember. To get the most out of Venom, you need to aim and hit the spores in order to spread it's AoE. To get the most out of Molt, you need to think about where you're placing the decoy. Molt can be used as impromptu armor in a pinch (as in, Molt and then don't move outside the shed skin), but it's not an instant 'I WILL SURVIVE' button like Trinity's Link or Ember's Overheat. Contagion is actually a really nice melee damage boost, but will only probably ever be necessary against heavy units and bosses...and running up to melee a heavy or boss has its own risks.

I own Trinity, Ember and Saryn, I'd say I have the most fun playing Ember and Saryn.

I use all four of Saryn's skills which is rare for a frame! Venom helps in boss-killing (it stacks) and for high HP enemies (Ancients), Molt is handy to take the heat off you, especially good against Infested where you can put it in an elevated position, Contagion adds good damage to your melee weapon and a big help for ranking up low level swords etc., Miasma does massive damage to enemies in a good radius. She has a high health pool and good armor making her quite tanky.

Ember currently can achieve 100% damage immunity with Overheat and a high level Focus mod, I have mine at +25% power. Nothing can harm you while in Overheat, and I mean nothing. Not lvl 50 Ancients, poison from Toxic Ancients, taking a bullet shower from 10+ lvl 30 Grineer Lancers, the entire clip of Lech Kril's Gorgon emptied in your face, Orokin Void laser traps... your shields and health won't budge. Fire Blast is situational but useful in Infested defense missions to "hold" certain areas of the map as fire damage stuns them. World on Fire is one of the most powerful AoE ultimates in the game as it moves with you, allowing you to acquire new victims as you run/slide/roll/flip along the way. Fireball is useless, you can manage without ever putting it on. Big energy pool, huge damage potential - you can quite easily lead the damage dealt and kill stats in missions with Ember.

Oh, and don't buy any of these frames for plat. They're all easily farmable from the bosses. Even Nyx from Phorid, by that time you should already have a maxed rank Ember to breeze through all the missions in Eris.

Saryn for the Ultimate, Ember for running around like a torch.

Despite what people claim, Trinity isn't currently used as a healer on most players. Thanks to her Link ability she can tank bosses and survive quite a bit of punishment with that, pushing her into a different role than she was originally designed.

Nyx is about Crowd Control and absorbing damage, so that may not be something for you when you want to work with damage frames.

Edit : And yes, don't buy them with Platinum - Rather get Frame/Weapon slots and Color packs when you really want to spend that, since those are more rewarding in the long term.

I personally wouldn't buy any Warframe. Maybe Vauban if I had to choose.

Out of those three, I'd go with either Nyx or Saryn. Saryn has three awesome abilities to deal major damage, she's my boss killer. When I get my Dark Sword modded properly, +80% poison damage is going to make most bosses laughable. Venom is great to stack from a distance, and even has some crowd control capabilities if you're a good marksman, and Miasma is arguably the most powerful ult in the game due to ignoring shields and armour.

However, Nyx is unique. Any frame can pump out loads of damage, but Nyx specialises in making that damage go ten times as far. Use Chaos with Stretch and Continuity, you buy yourself an extra minute to do whatever. Absorb is very situational but is the only ability to scale with enemies - even Saryn will eventually do negligible damage against high level enemies, but as enemy damage goes up Absorb gets more powerful. Though it's useless against infested without your allies shooting you.

Mind control is also a great stall tactic, if there's a big group just drop it on the biggest guy in it. Everything stops to attack him, you buy yourself a fair bit of time. Can also use on Ancient Healers to heal your team and the cryopod, and is great to stop disruptors and once used on a toxic their poison will no longer hurt you (except the poison that remains after it dies).

I own both and use both equally, they are both a lot of fun.

Trinity, however, two of my mates own her and neither plays her anymore.

Neither. If I choose to buy a Warframe, it would be Vauban (because he is very hard to get), Loki or Volt (because they are really cheap).

I'd go with this advice as well... so better save up for some extra plat (Dev's will be grateful as well). You can farm them all with the help of some willing clan mates in a few days...

But the choice also depends on your favorite playstyle a lot. I love playing Ember cause she's (for me) the female counterpart to mr. Frost. Great AOE and crowd control. If you MOD her right (shields) many missions will be like a walk in the park.

Saryn is a DPS on high heels but somehow I cannot get used to her since my playstyle makes me use only 1 or two of her skills. I know she is great to play with but I am afraid that she's not that much of a match for me.

Nyx  might not be the Warframe with the most sexy (DPS) set of skills either, but she rules in defense and void runs, especially when the opponents reach lvl 80+. Pop an Absorb in an tower 3 extermination while 1 or 2 heavy grineers unload their guns and you'll notice why.

But in the end it also depends on how your team (either clan or Pickup) plays and how you want to fit in there.

And Vauban? Well I think he is butt ugly with his bulky appearance but I love playing with him since he can for fill many roles within a team... be that either defensive, offensive or support...but not everyone will love you when you toss a Vortex into a room while you have maxed out mods ...  ;-)
