[Suggestion] Finishing Move System

With this system, you are able to use the action button to lock a single (or multiple.... maybe) enemy into an animation where you violently kill them with your melee weapon. The attack will do a preset amount of damage, a set base damage depending on weapon, and a way to increase on this base. To prevent the stupid situation where you stab a guy through the chest/slit his throat, only to have him shake it off with too much health (ahem stealth kills), and to prevent over-usage, you are only able to finishing-move an enemy if the damage you will do will kill that enemy, and maybe there will be a small cooldown in place.

Actual animations could be anything from a simple stab/fancy slash to a transition from other actions such as wallrun/slide/slide attack, depending mainly on your state (sprint/crouching/jumping etc) when you make contact, and also on some weapons (Furx etc would be different from most). The animations should be restricted to being fairly short/simple, an animation where you do some kind of twirling leap across the room and kill the target may be cool the first few times, it will get old really soon, and feels way too automated, as opposed to say, making your way across the room manually and then executing an animation based on method of approach (sprint/slide/jump etc).

Whether or not you are invincible/immune to CC during the animation could go either way, but the damage done would have to be much higher for the non-immune version. The damage done could be increased either by a specific new mod (hopefully not), Pressure Point, Killing Blow (would make a lot of sense, but it already has enough going for it right now), or passively at intervals as the weapon ranks up (maybe 10% extra per rank).

Thoughts?

 

E: Btw, this doesn't replace the current system, it's just an addition.

What I keep thinking over and over is that this game would be awesome if the Melee combat would start resembling the fluid combat in Batman Arkham Asylum/City.

 

Ability to use the environment to your advantage like launching from a wallrun into your enemy, drop down on them from above, etc... basically what it shows us on the Warframe trailers.

 

The ability to combo Melee with the firearms etc.

 

All this would make this game awesome, and should also benefit the stealth mode.
