Wave Scaling Mechanic (Possible Bug)

Question

The last few days I've experienced something new (to me at least).

 

When running a defense mission (4 players) and the other players chose to extract after wave 15 there's a scaling thing screwing with the wave 16 spawn amount of mobs.

You get the 4 person scaling with only one player in the mission. If you survive that first wave (#16) it scales down to single player strength as it should be.

- my guess is that wave 6/11/16 all scale after the amount of players finishing the previous wave and not the amount of players actually starting the given wave.

 

A few friends and I have tried to have all but one of us leave a mission between extracts (ie during wave 7/12/17) and if that happens it scales correct as soon as wave 18 begins.

 

Depending on the frame/mission you're in this can be a "there goes the loot" situation. The ones I've seen it in are the ones I tend to solo for void keys, so I'm used to the amount of enemies that should be there as both solo and group.

 

Anyone else seen this?
