Question On Reconnecting After A Disconnection

Can someone please explain why we cannot retain all of the EXP and Loot after we are disconnected and reconnected in the game?

 

Ex. Defense mission wave 37 you disconnected. 30 seconds later you managed to get back in the game. With no resources or mods looted whatsoever. Then upon reaching the 40th wave and finished it you are awarded with 5th wave award.

 

Why?

At least you were able to get back in.

Our host disconnected briefly, we did a host migration, it failed, we were dumped to our respective ships with zero rewards; not even any affinity gains (which was wierd).

 

We're long overdue for dedicated servers.  DE has made way more than enough money to justify the same expense as any other online multiplayer game.

I'm wondering why we cannot retain the loot and xp from a DC but we still manage to reconnect.
