ARMADIS, The Siege Frame!

HEY YOU! YEAH YOU! ARE YOU TIRED OF TONKOR SPAM? DO YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT HITS LIKE A REAL EXPLOSIVE? OF COURSE YOU DO!

SO LISTEN UP!

This here is a SERIOUS concept, this isn't a joke or a gag! This is 110% A real, honest concept! No art (yet), no animations (ever), just straight text (all the time). If you don't like reading (then why are you here?), leave at once! Now that we've weeded out the people who don't enjoy reading, let's get right into this concept...

Gimmick/Basis: This frame is based on both an artillery cannon found on ships and stationed on high places, a sentry turret, and even the lack of explosives that Warframe has.

Appearance: About the same height as Atlas, the Armadis Frame is a hulking, towering, and fierce tool of war, perfect for tenno operations involving the signature nature of the way this mechanical beauty kills. The head of Armadis is considerably smaller than most, and the organic appearance, though sleek and wedge-shaped, is offset by a single, orb-like optical sensor on the right side of it's head, that constantly shifts and swivels to take in surroundings. The body of Armadis appears to be that of a more hull-like structure, rather than the almost chitinous plating that warframes are known for. Two, large, wedge-like pieces which almost form a cuirass over the shoulders and chest, make up the breastplate, whilst the signature (quote 'chitinous') under plating streams down towards the waist in an average, oblique, and boring steel grey. Down towards the legs, two long plates of metal, offset by the thin, also grey, 'under armor' fits into two large 'boots'. The 'boots are connected to the under armor, and form right as the two plates on each leg cut off. On Armadis's back are two, rather obtrusive cannons styled after what almost looks to be either a sniper rifle barrel of modern day .50 caliber guns, or artillery cannons (Which they function as the latter). The long, two prongs are connected by two tubes into a cylinder-like backpack, which is attached to the 'under armor' of the warframe itself, resting the top of the tube onto the cuirass.

"This is Armadis, forged in the fires of old, Earth wars, it still has power left untapped for ages. Release it."

Stats:

Health- 380 (1200 at rank 30)

Shields- 50 (150 at rank 30)

Power-100 (300 at rank 30)

Armor- 300

Sprint Speed- .5

Special Attributes and Notes:

  • Armadis is immune to explosive knockdown, and reduces all blast damage taken by allies within 15 meters of him.
  • Armadis is intentionally extremely slow, and bulky for a reason, the old Earth origin of Armadis's original design leaves a lot to be wished for of Tenno operations, despite still being able to wall climb, cling, and run, as well as perform other tasks a normal tenno can. He lacks severely in this mobility on the ground to make up for destructive power.
  • Armadis's cannons will switch sides when the H key is pressed to change shoulder perspective, so they do not obscure the view of the player.
  • Armadis's Noble animations will have him standing tall, shaking as he rises, and squatting slightly like a robot, but agile animations will look far more lifelike, with him bouncing up and down, holding his weapon, regardless of type in one hand, unless it is a bow or dual secondary/throwable.
  • Armadis's name is derived from the word Armada, meaning a massive fleet or horde. Armadas often include destroyers, in which the artillery cannons on his shoulder has been based on.

Abilities:

Heavy Blast: Armadis levels his shoulder cannons to fire off a shell with each press of the button. A loud, mechanical click and whirr plays when Armadis aims, and the cannon itself will signal with several beeps when it has locked onto a target. The attack is a hitscan with an explosive radius, dealing increased blast damage with each rank, and each consecutive shot. It decreases lock on time with Ability Duration's increase, Total range increases with Range mods, and Obviously power mods affect this ability.

"Heavy blast aims Armadis's two repeating cannons to fire off a volley of deadly explosives. When aiming with Heavy Blast, be aware that it takes a second to lock onto targets before firing."

Rain: Armadis grabs his chest, and pulls it open, and a cannon with multiple barrels reveals itself, firing one blast diagonally upward. If Armadis is outside, a ring is highlighted around where the blast will hit. If indoors, it simply travels a randomized distance ahead. Allies caught within Rain receive a speed boost on the hot ground it creates, and enemies will take damage upon the heated ground.

"Rain lets Armadis fire a volley of deadly, white-hot shrapnel towards enemies. It is easier to control in outdoor environments, and speeds up allies in the vicinity while also damaging enemies.."

Scouting Unit: The Pseudo-backpack opens, and Armadis's eye pops out, whilst sticking to a prong that appears in the backpack. When the prong is attached, the player can control the small drone, and any enemies on screen will be marked. When the player is done (or cancels by detonating with the fire button), or the drone is destroyed, it detonates into an AoE blast, dealing damage according to distance traveled and level. Armadis then pulls another eye from the backpack and smacks it into his face, standing up. Range mods and duration mods affect how far and long respectively the drone travels, as well as range also affecting the radius of the explosion. Damage mods affect the blast damage closer to the epicenter, spreading it out over the entire radius.

"Scouting Unit allows Armadis to use his own eye as a drone, marking all targets in his sight on the minimap. When the drone has been destroyed, it's battery life done, or when Armadis decides, it detonates into an Area of Effect blast, hitting all enemies in range with a heavy blast"

DFA (Death from Above or Death from Afar): Kneeling down, and facing his two cannons outward, one folding on each side, the player gets an aerial view of the battlefield, or facing the cannons forward if indoors or on a ship of some kind. Pressing the fire button launches a large, explosive shell from each cannon. Pressing the reload button can cycle the types of shells fired. Energy color determines the starting shell. Greens and other variants are gas bombs that cause radiation damage, and are represented by a cloud on the customization screen. Yellow, orange, and red colors keep the element to explosive, and do massive damage closer towards the blast center, and guarantee a critical hit on direct hits. White, blue, and black colors cause magnetic damage, and can temporarily disable both shields and robots in the area (that aren't bosses). It costs no energy to engage, but each shell costs 25 energy. Efficiency mods affect the cost of each shell, range mods increase the blast radius and range of the shells and their radius respectively, and ability power mods can increase the total damage of the blasts.

"Smell that, tenno? Smells like victory, doesn't it? DFA turns Armadis into a living artillery battery, firing deadly payloads that change their uses depending on energy color."

"Whether it be siege and destruction, or holding a defensive position against oncoming hordes, Armadis is a powerful choice for any soldier on the ground."

Fortification and Kinetic beam are now Scouting Unit and Rain.

It's waaay too overpowered, it would nuke everything in sight + an extreme amount of health that grants huge survivability and the design you suggested won't fit in the general warframe style (sleek, minimalist(well, it is minimalist, a bunch of geometric shapes pieced together), elegant). I'd suggest changing the appearance to something more tenno-ish.

Hmm. The abilities would be tooled towards that kind of playstyle, the whole 'nuke it from a distance' thing, but I see what you mean at the appearance section. The cannons gotta stay, though. I was grasping at straws, honestly, when I wrote that bit. As for survivability, I wanted as close to a 'literal tank' as possible.
