Communist101
Instead of measuring the amount of damage that is dealt to it before it disappears, how about measuring the amount of bullets/hit it was being dealt to? It could be viable at later missions, since it only lasts for about 0.5 seconds as it stands as of now. neKroMancer
Decoy is a bit tricky to use since the location which you place one is of extreme importance. Player can prolong decoy's life with proper placement : behind solid cover and in the path of AI. Very useful in case of Grineer and Corpus which usually take cover and leave their flank wide open, allowing your team to flank them with ease. In case of high level Infest, it serves as 0.5 second distraction against ancients. Placing one in a bottleneck and let your team do the wet work usually prolong it's life a bit. Iron skin needs to be more viable in late game. Personally, I think full shield refill with 80-90% DR is a good deal since percentage reduction works far better than fixed amount. Placing a well-designated Decoy that is behind cover and is on the AI's path, while getting blasted by the Corpus/ Grineer and/or getting hammered by the Infested is very difficult. Sure, you can prolong it's life a bit by having your teammates fight with it, but by a short period of time. And yes, as it currently stands now, Iron Skin is very unviable at later missions.
