Followers Getting Stuck

On almost every mission I do where there is someone following you (rescue missions) the follower (I will call him Bob) gets stuck everywhere! Naturally I do not use steps because I am a space ninja, but Bob is forced to use them and they prove to be an extreme obstacle for him.

 

Steps, corners, boxes, pretty much anything that gets in Bobs way is a potential treadmill. Sometimes I enjoy just watching him run in place but times when I want to get to extraction fast this can be quite a setback. I've actually failed missions for getting too far ahead of Bob and not noticing. If I do realize he isn't with me sometimes I have to backtrack and find out where he is running in place.

Followers get stuck on objects way to easily.
