How Random Are Mod Drops?

I've been playing a bit this weekend (event) and after some time i went checking what mods i've got and...well...i guess the rng god was afk

That was the first time i've seen this, common thing or agent smith entering the matrix twice?

That looks pretty normal to me.

Drops are psudorandom they can't be considered true random especially because every level has 1or2 mods that have much higher chance of dropping.

Haha dude, you will get a hundred commons for every rare mode. This isn't unnaturally bad.

I guess i wasn't specific enough. The thing that surprises me is a 8 mod sequence repeat itself in the exact same order. And it happend at least twice.

I understand that nothing computer based can be called true random because the seed it's never random, but this is "quite a coincidence".

The same thing would happen if the RNG was truly random rather than pseudo-random. It's just that it happened to you. For something to pass the "randomness" tests, you'd think [using a coin as an example] that you just need the same number of heads and tails, but actually you also need the same number of heads followed by a tail as heads followed by heads, the same number of heads followed by heads followed by tails as HTH and the same number of THH...

 

Basically, it would be surprising if somebody didn't see the same pattern of 8 mods repeated. It's when many people start getting that pattern that we should start worrying :)
