If you are all familiar with the 'Jordas Precept' you would know that the 'Infested Virus' is more then a mindless disease. It's a collective mind. Golum: 'We are of like flesh!' What did Jordas Golum mean by that? It wasn't Jordas talking, it was Golum the Infested talking. How is it that the Tenno are immune to the Virus? Because, Warframe's share the same, or similar make-up as the Infested Virus! Which means whoever created the Virus, also created the TENNO! Who created the Tenno? The Lotus. She, or IT, is responsible for creating the Virus, then later on, created the Tenno. But they say the Orokin created the Virus right? Exactly! The Lotus is one of the last survivor's of the Orokin civilization left. Therefore, the Infested are our cousins! ... Or, estranged 'In-law's' if you prefer. Be warned, The Lotus does not want this information to leak out. And has half the developer's under her powerfully persuasive control.
