Is it best to rank something beit a frame or weapon one at a time/multiple or does it not matter at all

My gut tells me one thing at a time but who knows? Literally

if ur in a group, then equip 1 weapon and leech the affinity of ur squad mates. 

when solo, equip everything because u cant leech affinity.

Your weapons split xp across each other, even if it already is at Max rank. Warframes don't split the xp however so feel free to take a frame and a weapon to level.

Affinity works like the following:

If you deliver a killing blow with a warframe ability, the warframe gets 100% of the affinity.

If you deliver the killing blow with a weapon, the warframe receives 50%, and the weapon receives 50%.

If you are in a group and someone else kills an enemy, it gets a little more complex:

Warframe: Always receives 25% affinity.

Weapons: Split affinity equally, based on how many you have equipped, even if they are max rank. As such:

Enemy dies for 100 Affinity

25 to your Warframe

75 (if only a single weapon equipped)

37.5 each (if you have two weapons equipped)

25 each (if you have three weapons equipped)

I believe that Sentinel weapons / Kubrows / Kavats / Chargers also take a bite, but someone else might be able to confirm that.

In essence, if you are wanting to level a single weapon very quickly, find a group that will let you hang around for shared affinity. Otherwise, play a public/group mission with one powerful weapon to defend yourself with, and other weapons to level, as they will get any affinity shared from other's kills.
