Well, we kind of have a tileset like that, the dojo. Although there isn't much to do in there if you're not in a huge clan. About the gender-swapped frames, DE stated they don't have any plans to do that.

First off, we have the Dojos, and the idea of being able to launch missions from the Dojo is an idea that has been suggested over and over again (though a hangar module that we leave from would be awesome) and I still want to see it happen.

 

Secondly, more outdoor tilesets are coming, next confirmed being the Grineer Settlement (name subject to change?).

 

Finally, they have stated in literally every livestream that they are not going to do genderswapped frames. However, they like the idea of frames based on the same theme but with the opposite gender and different skills.

Totally agree, quote of the year award - this sums up the main perception problem with Warframe.

 

The player feels confined and contained inside a tiny little space, outside of missions. I'm in a large clan with a huge HUGE dojo, this in NOT about THAT. The Dojo is a separate issue. What we're talking about is the feeling of containment and confinement while outside the Dojo.

 

Our vast majority of time is spent on WF's dark sad screen (my god I love that quote), you access your inventory from this dark sad screen. You access your Foundry from this dark sad screen. You chat in Global from this dark sad screen. You swap mods, polarize weapons, craft items, view mats, access Market, check alerts, you do everything all from this same dark sad screen.

 

Warframe is a good game, but it's missing..   ..something. Several "somethings" actually. But one of those somethings is a player hub area in a large open space to move around inside all together with the other currently online players. Until something like this is added, a real sense of "community" will never be achieved. Rather, what exists now is this sense of disconnection to other players, as if you are so far removed from everyone else that a large void of the blackness of space separates us from each other, only to briefly meet inside the fleeting moments during missions.

 

It's a sad feeling, an empty feeling. A feeling that leaves you wanting something else - ANYthing else. Anything other than that dark sad screen.
