Mallet bugged?

Is this working as intended? When a mallet is alone, it deals damage normally to enemies in range and los, but when it is attached to a resonator it deals no damage at all.

Mallet only deals damage if enemies shoot on it. The more damage they deal to it, the more damage the Mallet deals. In your video, the enemies are not shooting the Mallet, so it should not deal any damage.

Enemies need to attack mallet for it to deal dmg. Literally says it in the ability description. It's also worth mentioning that when enemies attack mallet. After 2s of it not receiving dmg. The dmg ticks will start to decay. 

I don't understand why players throw out mallet then immediately the roller without mallet receiving dmg first. Really grind my gears.

So resonator makes the mallet take no damage to deal? Anyways, thanks. I didn't understand why the resonator was not letting the mallet absorb damage,  it just seemed a little counterintuitive to have them both at a time.
