Banners For Warframes

Fitting in with the asian flavor of warframe, I have a proposal for a new Primary Ranged weapon:

 

The Banner!

 

The Banner would be a replacement for a melee weapon - but it wouldn't allow you to do normal melee attacks, but in return would be a melee weapon with a slot for an Aura Mod.

Now, this in and of itself would be pretty cool, but I think that it can be EVEN COOLER and maintain some balance.

 

The Cooler Part:

When the wearer of the banner aims and then clicks, they throw the banner which imbeds in the first hard surface that it comes in contact with - wall, floor, ceiling, maybe even enemies (Doing minimal damage). This has the effect of increasing the power of the aura mod attached to the banner, but at the cost of energy / second. The edge of the aura would be displayed on the ground, as well as a tether between the player that planted the banner and the banner itself.

The player that put it down would then be able to pick it back up, interacting with it to do so.

 

As another option, it could replace the melee weapon and be placed with a Heavy Attack.

 

The Banner Stats:

When worn as a standard:

AOE - 10 meters

Effect - Standard for the rank of the mod.

Damage when thrown - 5 - 10 damage

 

When placed:

AOE - 20 meters

Effect: 3x the effect of the mod

Energy / second: 10 / second

I feel like this would be more likely to be an ability of a warframe rather than a melee weapon
