You have a set limit of points to use, you have 0 remaining atm and by upgrading your rendering strike another time which would cost another point, would put you at -1 which doesnt work so you'd have to forma it or potato it  depending

It happens when there's no space left on your weapon to upgrade. Unequip the mod, then level it (but be aware, without adjusting accordingly, your mod won't be able to fit back in once you've upgraded it).

You need to level up the weapon. This increases the mod capacity relative to its level. Allowing more modding.

This is how you make weapons more powerful.

Or you just take the mod off the weapon, then fuse it.
