Artifacts And Toxin

I can understand a crypod being affected by toxin, there is a tenno in there, but an artifact?

 

Many say Ash isn't for defense missions. I think any warframe can handle a infestation defense provided they have properly modded weapons.

The only thing that stopped me from completing said defense was that toxin sapped away at the artifact's health.

 

I don't think artifacts should be affected by toxin from Toxic Ancients.

 

Anyone think that they should, from a logical standpoint?

I was under the impression that toxins in this game don't just give you an upset tummy. They corrode and eat away at whatever they touch like nobody's business.

If the toxin has corrosive properties, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't affect artifacts and frames alike.
