Why Gild to color Amps?

Why must we grind so long in The Quils just to get to color our amps. The main reason why I ask this is because for what ever reason my amp fires a blue laser when my suit's energy color is green. It bothers the heck out of me, more so when I farmed the smaller Eldolon to get enough enough, only to be told that I had to be rank 3 before I can gild it. I know people have already got pasted this, probably by killing the bigger Eldolons. I have no clue how to do that effectively on console but that's besides the point. Even if we can't change the color of the amp itself, can we at least make it so the Amp colors match the suit colors?.
