About The New(Ish) Mods...

Hey everyone. After reading a bunch of complaints about event-exclusive mods, I got an idea to remedy the situation, without inflating the RNG tables. What if mods, like Primed Chamber or Lethal Torrent, after a while, got introduced as clan-made mods? As in, you can build them from blueprints in the clan?

 

The mod blueprints (BP) would be expensive, although their price would be dependent on how good they are. For example, the Primed Chamber BP may cost 500k credits, while Lethal Torrent BP may cost 400k. They would also require a decent amount of resources to build, maybe also linked to their value. In this case, Primed Chamber, an amazing mod, would require as much resources as a Gorgon to build.

 

Oh, and these should also go in either the Chemical or Biological Labs. To give them a bit more variety. :)

 

What do you guys think?

It is, actually.  How do you plan on making those new mods?  Foundry perhaps?

 

It's also a bad idea because, once again, this is a post about asking for event content outside of events.  Completely different discussion that I've had several [lengthy] posts about.

It would be a good idea, it's not fair if only a select number people get the mod and no one else.

Primed chamber was , hopefully, a one time thing.  There was then a lesser version of it released to the public.  Both are bad and only for novelty, so there is really no issue of "those 100 people are stronger than all of us now."  The current system seems to be leaning towards a "suffiicient participation" oriented point of view with a bonus to those who do make it to the top.

About the more-tab foundry, if it really becomes a burden, putting the mod as just buyable straight out of the lab is a good idea. The credit farming should be enough to justify it's purchase.

 

And about the Primed Chamber exclusivity, if it really grinds the community's gears, maybe a buffed Charged Chamber could be put into this system. At least some high-end, hard-to-find mods, and/or some lower (but still great!) versions of the event-exclusive mods. Something to lessen the dilution of mods in the RNG tables.

So what you're suggesting is essentially "Crazy Captain Vor's Mystery Shop?"  This has been an idea of the devs for a while now.  Watch the livestreams or at least read about what was said in them.

 

If you are going to make posts on things, read up on those things before posting them.  I can not stress this point enough. (That was a general statement, not just to you, UGNT)
