How To Make Melee Parrying At Least Circumstantially Useful.

Allow people to pass through corpus laser barriers while blocking.

 

Either way currently majority of people just rush and glitch past through the barriers.

This way underused game mechanic will be more appealing to players.

 

Decreased shield damage and no stagger/knockdown while blocking and touching the barrier should be just fine.

 

As far as "realism goes", from what i've seen. The barriers go from left to right, so technically blocking left side of your body should make you more or less safe from the laser.

I'd like it if blocking made you immune to knockdown and stagger. Oh well

I dunno, I felt those laser doors would be much more effective if they were actually a solid wall, hitbox-wise. They'd still knock people over on contact, though.
