Terminal Suitcase Beacons

In one mission I was in with a friend, we had 4 tennos in the mission, and we had to use the terminals to get our objectives, during the mission one of our tennos, a rhinon either aborted or got DCed and left his suitcase behind, so I picked it up, once we seemingly got the suitcases we need (2 of us out of 3 were holding them) and headed to the extraction point, only to be blocked off and told to get 4 of the data catches...problem is, we were a man short, and if some of us dropped the suitcase, where were the others?! And no way we could tell due to where the map was guiding us...so I had to regrettablally abort the mission since we couldn't find the other suitcases that were possiblelly laying around without us realizing it.

 

So when there is a leftover suitcase that still needs to be picked up...why not have it become an ultra long distance beacon?

You can stack the suit cases. As long as it is the same kind you can stack them and pick up multiples. For instance you can pick up multiple data cores etc.
