Toru, The Martyr

I would TOTALLY draw stuff for this concept but... I'm tired. I'm too lazy. And I don't know how to draw a Uni-Sex Warframe. (And my artwork isn't all too good.)

 

So I hope you guys like this concept of mine. It's WAY too long. If there's some typographical error or something, I'll fix it later.

 

The first part is basically dialogue if this concept becomes a Warframe Profile.

The second part is basically my own simplified explanation of Toru's abilities.

Part One

 

This is Toru, a sacrifice, the Martyr.

Toru is a specialist of constant change, using their abilities to great effects, for the Tenno or against the Enemy.

Toru's abilities reflect a balance between aiding allies or negating enemies, influencing dominance at the cost of themselves.

 

CHOOSE HOW THIS STORY ENDS!

Ability #1 Shield Split OR Fatigue

Version 1, Shield Split

Shield Split. Sacrificing a portion of their shields, Toru sends forth protection, reducing any incoming damage towards them-self and any ally, while knocking back any nearby enemy and temporarily reducing their speed and damage output.

Version 2, Fatigue

Draining from Toru's current amount of stamina, Fatigue, slows down nearby enemies, reducing their movement, allowing for easier targeting and death.

Ability #2 Bleed Out OR Siphon

Sometimes, the first blood must be from the Tenno.

 

Version 1, Bleed Out

At the cost of Toru's own health, Bleed Out coats any nearby enemy with energy draining away health and siphoning it towards any nearby ally healing them.

Version 2, Siphon

 Siphon. Toru removes a portion of their health, but in turn adds a large amount of regeneration towards their own health and shields, and to any ally.

Ability #3 Radial Energy

Releasing stored energy from within, Toru sends forth their Radial Energy, constantly restoring energy to allies but at the cost of draining Toru's energy for the duration. Any enemy caught within this Radial Energy will be stunned for momentary time.

Ability #4 Martyrdom

Every Tenno knows of loss, and Toru withstands this.Martyrdom, sacrificing all stored shields, stamina, and a percentage of their health, Toru bolsters every ally, adding regeneration to their shields, health and stamina, and increasing their combat speed and armor. Any enemy near Toru will be affected negatively, placing damage over time and decreasing all of their combative effectiveness.

 

Toru is known to loss and sacrifice, but with additions of mods results from their sacrifices can greatly increased.

Adding Strength mods will positively affect the reductions enemies receive from Shield Split/Fatigue and Bleed Out/ Siphon while increasing the regeneration from Martyrdom.

Range Mods will increase the affect radius of all of Toru's skills.

While placing Duration Mods will increase the time for regeneration with Martyrdom and increase the effect time for Bleed Out/Siphon.

 

Toru is a Warframe known for their sacrifices, their help will be of great service in battle.

Part Two

 

Backstory: Non-Lotus Style

Basically Toru is a Support-Debuff Frame based on Sacrifice. It's clear Warframe lacks in the department of Support Frames (But they DID say that there isn't many Warframes with Healing Technology.... To note: Isn't Many.) but they didn't have a frame dedicated to Debuff (Debuff skills are just shared between frames really...). Debuff and Support actually work really well in concept, so I hope this becomes real!

The Name

Coincidentally, the name Toru is a Japanese uni-sex name, but their name was originally based of Torus.

The Torus is this universal pattern of balance, that I don't fully understand but I found that Torus sounded too masculine and I couldn't decide if this frame was male/female. So I wrote the whole dialogue-thing in gender-neutral pronouns to leave it up to the audience (But I wouldn't mind if there was a gender-neutral Warframe see that DE has a very good track record of keeping things gender-balanced for the Warframes. Excluding all Warframe additions Post U 12.4.)

So Toru is referred to as a "They", if you have a problem with this... Uh... Sorry?

Stats/Skills/Abilities

Health: 125 ->375

Shields: 125 -> 375

Energy: 150 -> 225

Armour: 15

Stamina: 80

Sprint Speed: 1.15

Toru would be a tougher-than-normal Warframe having overall increased stats but is very fragile as soon as their shields blow. 

All of Toru's skills are kind of a mix of every other Frames abilities that were sewn together to make something original.

 

Ability #1: Shield Split / Fatigue

Shield Split was my original idea for Toru's first ability, while Fatigue is it's overshadowed little sibling.

 

If DE was looking for simpler game-play/programming I suggest they choose Fatigue, as Fatigue has less characteristics to program. Fatigue would be like a very weak version of Molecular Prime.

Fatigue= Drains Stamina to slow down enemies.

 

Shield Split was put in for those that like to have an effect on their enemies but don't want to be restricted to full on out "Support". Damage reduction is a small part within Warframe that I think could be expanded, and I also didn't want Toru's first skill to be completely disregarded. Shield Split would be a weird mix of Warcry, Paralysis, and Link 

Shield Split = Drains Shields to add damage reduction to player and allies in radius. Knockdown of enemies in radius + Debuff of Speed and Damage.

 

Ability #2: Bleed Out / Siphon

Bleed Out was my original idea, but Siphon was an alternative idea if Bleed Out seemed too... Sadistic.

 

Bleed Out was based on High-Risk High-Reward. Damage a part of your health but be able to Drain the Health of any nearby enemy. Place yourself in high risk (Lowering your health) but gain high reward (Possible Massive Health Regen) It's fairly unique of an ability but it's like an restricted Renewal. Like Renewal and Link combined.

Bleed Out = Damage Health but all enemies in radius now adds Health Regen to Player and Allies.

 

Siphon was also a simpler idea for a skill. Also based on High-Risk High-Reward, the player would damage their health and shields (Risk) but would eventually regain their health and shields back A LOT faster (Reward). I didn't want another ability to affect Toru's shields, but the effect could be added.

Masochistic Shield and Health based Renewal.

Siphon = Damages Health (Maybe Shields too) but adds Massive Shield and Health Regen.

 

Ability #3: Radial Energy

I didn't know of a clever way to name it. So there. Radial Energy.

 

It's unique in the sense that it transfers Toru's energy directly into allies/enemies kind of like how Eximus enemies produce Auras that slow down enemies directly.

If enemy, they get stunned every-so often, like Energy Vampire.

If Ally, energy gets transferred to them directly like a super-charged Energy Syphon.

 

This would be a toggle-able skill.

Radial Energy = Energy moved from player to ally if in radius. If Enemy is in radius, they'll be stunned ever so often.

Math Stuff

This skill is unique in the sense that Energy Efficiency could be a down side, as the energy transferred would be proportional to the one who receives it. Duration would reduce the time between stunning enemies, while Strength wouldn't effect the Energy Gained formula.

Something like: Energy Gained Per Ally = 1*(1-(1*Power Efficiency %)) / per second

So if you had no Power Efficiency mods you would have 1 Energy gained per every second.

If you reduce the amount drained on Toru, you reduce the amount of energy gained per Ally.

I don't know a good way to calculate the time between stuns. Sorry!

 

Ability #4 Martyrdom

 

I knew this day would come. I prepared, changed myself. I made sacrifices! Tenno... are you ready for a SACRIFICE!?

Designed to be the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. Toru would drain SOOOOO much of them-self but the whole squad would gain SOOOOO much.

 

With the loss of basically all your survivable-ity stats you would become basically insta-dead, especially if you were solo-ing and you were surrounded.

BUT you gain a MASSIVE buff to all your stats and gain increase regen to all your regenerate-able stats. This PLUS a debuff against your enemies plus DOT proc!

This wouldn't be overly OP, as it's basically Speed, Warcry, Roar, Terrify, and Renewal all wrapped in one (If you ever used all the buff skills above at once you'll find that together they aren't all that OP...).

The DOT proc would make it more applicable for combative purposes as it would be a weaker Blade Storm.

Martyrdom for allies = Effects of Speed (Without visual effect), Effect of Warcry, Effect of Roar, Effect of Renewal + Increased Shield Regen

Note: All listed effects will NOT be as effective as original skill. We can't be THAT effective guys.

 

Martyrdom for Enemies = Effects of Warcry (Movement speed decrease), Effects of Terrify (Decrease Armor NOT the fleeing thing.) + DOT effect (Can be Bleed or Toxin or Something. I'unno, or care.)
