Dear DE:

First of all, the game is getting better all the time, please keep the awesome content and updates coming :)

Now... this has been an issue for a long time, but is highlighted once again by the re-release of the Snipetron.... namely, the problem of the crosshair becoming all but invisible on a substantial portion of game maps.

Take the Snipetron, go to Triton on Neptune (or any snowy Corpus map) ... you will essentially be shooting blind, because the zoomed-in interface is a pale off-white / gray color, but almost all of the background you will be zooming in on, is various shades of light blue / off-white / light gray.

Identical problems exist for the Vectis Prime (and other guns) in the Void.

Of course, this issue does not exist (more accurately, still exists, but is not really relevant) for weapons like the Soma (Prime) or Boltor (Prime), since their effective use does not rely on being pin-point accurate. Spray-and-pray works perfectly well for such guns.

But for sniper rifles and sniping pistols (Lex Prime and Vaykor Marelok etc), being accurate is very important, and is severely hampered by the current zoomed-in graphics overlay.

I think on a recent Devstream, either Steve or Scott talked a bit about Sniper rework, so looking forward to that. Just want to make sure this is one aspect you guys really focus on, because this has a DRAMATIC impact on how useful a sniper rifle/pistol is.

You can make the overlay automatically choose a color that strongly contrasts with whatever the background is.

Or... the overlay can have a default color, but when the crosshairs are on target, the crosshairs glow in a different color. You can even have the crosshair glow different colors when you have a body shot lined up, vs a headshot.

Hopefully we can choose between different crosshair design as well.

Even better still, make all these features user-customizable. Let players choose which of these sniper features they want on / off, and be able to define their own color schemes for the overlay / reticles / headshot indicators.

Another idea: Like how Warframes recently got a new Exilus slot.... can give sniper weapons an extra slot that can be unlocked via purchasing in the market or through a quest.... and this slot can be used to equip different type / style of scopes.

Thanks

Yup. Needs to happen.

I suggest that a stopgap fix would be: change the color of sniper overlays to the energy color of the weapon. You can make it darker/light based on your preference.

One more thing to add onto your post: ALL crosshairs in this game, not just the sniper overlays, are partially transparent.

I do not know of any other game that does this. Crosshairs need to be opaque and high contast.

In the meantime, make your own crosshair and use this free program to overlay it ontop of your screen.

Use borderless windows mode for this to work. I have consulted support. This is perfectly fine to use.
