  1. First, solo has the option to pause the game.  No other mode does.

Second, what frames and weapons are you two using, and what planet are you on?  If you are still on mercury with pure starting gear, then you might want to work on farming the first two missions for easy mods.  If you are having a whole lot of trouble, farm the exterminate mission.  It will give you a finite amount of enemies to keep you from getting bogged down by unearthly hordes.  If you are farther than that, one of you might want to look at farming up the Rhino Frame for added defense.

Third, try and open group or a clan.  Many clans are always advertising, you can always jump into a small clan if you want.

Lastly, check the Wikis.  They will help you mod your weapons and frames for max abilities.

As you can see, a lot of people have offered help.  Just keep at it and have fun.

  2. I really hope that you go for the "(enforcing it with a lawyer if need be)" route.  That way you can see what hiring a lawyer actually costs.  If you also find a lawyer that will take your case on the "You only pay me if I win your case" base, let me know.  I want to find a lawyer that will work that cheap.

Anyway, DE is there own company.  We are not shareholders and they do not answer to us.  They can make their own choices and they will succeed or fail depending on that plan.  If you have fun playing the game, keep playing, if not, then play something else.  Steam is Greenlighting games every day.  You can download games straight to your console or computer.  Most of these games are cheaper than the cash you spent on your plat.  Find something you like and be happy.  If you are making a flame post about a game, you are doing it wrong.  You should be playing a game you enjoy instead.

  3. As you level the gun up, you get more mod slots, that is all.  The main mods you are looking for are Serration (primary weapon) and Hornet Strike (secondary weapon).  These will improve your direct damage output.  To find these, you pretty much need to do mod farming.  Mod farming is done best in Defense Missions, Mobile Defense Missions, or Survival Missions.  It may take awhile, but when you find the mods you are looking for, you will see a real jump in what you can do.

In conjunction with that go to the WARFRAME Wiki and look at the mods page.  They have a list of what enemies have the best chance to drop which mods you are looking for.  I am not sure how up to date that page is, but it helped me when I was grinding specific mods.

Lastly, you can always get a new weapon (level this up to 30 first).  Secondaries have the highest damage output right now with Primaries taking a back seat.  With some work, you can get a Soma right now, and build it for a crit damage build to get some very nice numbers out there early game.

  4. Nothing will happen until you ask the question.  It might help to wait until after the homecoming so you do not have to worry about her seeing someone.   The main thing is that even if she rejects you, do not let it  get you down.  There is someone out there for you.  If someone makes you smile, ask them out, take a chance.  Make sure she knows you are interested.  Do not play games or just drop hints, let her know without making it weird.

  5. Be honest with her, do not ask her to home coming instead ask if you can take her out.  If she turns you down just smile and say "Okay.  No harm in asking."  Do not let things get weird with her.  Just be your same self and pretend it never happened.  Move on and find someone else and stay friends.  If you handle this maturely, she might come to you later if she turns you down.

If she says yes, well, then you win and what are you doing sitting on the forums for?

  6. The Ogris is amazing.  It is my main weapon for defense if I am on trash clear.  For heavy clear I recommend something that has armor ignore.  But back to the Ogris.  The explosion is increased by your mods, so the more you mod it out, the more likely that a misplaced shot will kill you.  Before damage mods, put on a speed trigger, that means you can shoot faster (trust me, you will notice the difference right away)

A Rainbow build works really well on this weapon.   I have put three forma on mine so far, it is very much worth it.   It is best to use this weapon with a Clan or Friends because there are some players that really think the Ogris is cheese and will troll you for it.   Some Frosts will globe right in front of your rocket and kill you then leave you to die.

  7. You only go up in rank as you level new frames and weapons. The more you level, the faster you rank up. If someone has the time, money, and affinity booster, the can buy up frames with plat and do some heavy farming and get to you rank in a week or less for those truly dedicated individuals.

I prefer to take my time. I am rank 8 and not higher cause I have favorite gear, weapons and other things that I want to forma. Releveling a formaed weapon does nothing.

  8. Bosses specifically. Bosses battles that require some strategy to deal with. I think the new Golem is a good direction. I would also like smaller levels for boss fights. Lastly, several loot rewards per boss, Frame parts a weapon bp and a skin bp.

  9. I think it should be a feature that could be turned on and off.  Default would have mapping on.  This will help new players that do not know the tile sets get to the markers.  Turning it off would be a blessing to those players with experience that just want to parkour their way to the mod in the fastest time possible.  I see this a lot with the Grineer Galleon Defense Tile Set.

  10. I cannot recall what was the avarage lenght of the missions in Mechwarrior 2 for single player campaign; it's been far too long since I spectating that game. But since it didn't allow you to keep the exp or salvage when aborting mission / returning to menu, they most likely didn't last for hours.

The longest missions in MechCommander 2 (not Mechwarrior, which there was no salvage, in MW2:Mercs there was prescripted salvage) the longest missions would fall into the 30 minute plus category.  While most were shorter ranging from 5-10 minutes, you could make them last longer if you wanted to make sure none of your pilots were injured.

But I digress, that is a different game, different rules and different goals set for the players.

Making comparisons to other games allows for a bar to be set, but it has to be noted that Warframe is a game unto itself.   They way the game is designed allows for players to be pushed without being punished.  This particular line that is being walked is very thin.  As has been stated, people have used exploits to bring these changes into affect.  Players were punishing other players for simply being part of a team.  This was real punishment.  They did not fail the mission, they did not quit the mission, and they were being robbed of their time and work when they committed no errors.  DE changed the rules to help level the playing field.  Keep in mind, this change was called for by the community.   If you read the forums several months ago, you would remember the number of threads crying for a change to stop these players from damaging the rest of the community.  DE responded.

Perhaps a better solution would be two additional mods.  Three ranks.  It multiplies your resources or credits by 1.5 / 2 / 2.5.  This would give you a bigger reward for success and lesson your pain of failure.  Missions still need to be completed, time still needs to be spent.  While this solution is far from perfect, I think taking the step backwards is even more of a negative direction.

  11. Sad that the Revives only affect the downed Tenno in question though instead of Hostages, Defending Objects, and Time Limits to name few non-Tenno objects. Not to mention the Revives won't reset the stages /levels /map into state that you could complete them, if / when you get stuck in numerous ways due glitches...

    ----------------------

Funny how many times non-video-game examples are being brought up here as arguments; last time I remember mentioning something about video-games, they were escapism and not reality-simulators, especially the games that didn't aim to be simulators...

Another thing is that I actually paid for my driving lessons instead of being paid by my behalf. So, it makes one to wonder why would I suddenly walk away from the test after paying that ridiculous amount of money for getting the lesson and license. Off-topical, but eh...whateva.

Alright, fair points.  How about we look at this a different way.  Instead of calling your mods and resources your rewards, let us call them potential rewards.  You are being shown what you get IF you complete your mission.  This should be a positive thing, and motivate you to strive harder to protect that hostage, work with your team to protect that pod, or move faster and using your parkour skills that you have been given.  Your video you linked mentioned tools and making sure the player has the tools to complete the objective.  DE has given you the tools, you have to be the one that accepts them and uses them.

Let me use a video game example.  I went with real life because it is easier to relate to, but to each their own.  In the game MechCommander 2 (not 1 mind you, that game was extremely punishing.) if you quit a mission, you do not get to keep your salvage, your pilots do not get to keep their experience, and you do not advance.  In Warframe you get to keep any in game earned XP, you can choose to play the mission after it (if unlocked already) or you can have a friend pull you into another mission.  You are not being Punished.  I cannot stress this enough.  You are making a choice to give up those potential items and do something else.  That particualr choice  is one you make on your own.

  12. DE gives you 4 resurrects a day per Warframe.  You are not being punished for failure.  They are giving you a chance.    DE has given you the tools to be successful.  You have weapons, frames, and friends to help get you through a mission.  You are not being punished for a failure, you are instead given many chances to succeed despite your potential failure.

As for aborting, if you go and take your drivers test, complete half of it, walk away and call it a day, do you get half a license?  You are not being punished for quitting, you are just walking away from your potential rewards.

I read your last two threads and while I do not agree with them, I hope you understand that DE is not trying to punish you.  They are making the game approachable while rewarding you for your success.

  13. To be clear, I want to say that I really do not mind a Globe to cover a lane that leads up to the pod.  Say 20m away from the pod, Frost and Player 2 get in globe and shoot infested and then melee left overs before they get to the pod.  Good job guys.  Players 3 and 4 take a different side and handle that area.  Good team work as most infested def missions only have two lanes.  A little jog can shuffle players to where they are needed.  The problem is that many Frosts that I have played with will drop a Globe on the pod, then run away to go fight somewhere else.  Plenty of enemies get past them and weaken what the team has to do to survive.  This is what give the Frosts and their Globes a bad name.

I use to main a Frost, I use to Globe the pod.  I learned not to do this on infested def unless our group was the type that liked to go melee heavy.  When Vauban came to play, I quickly understood that he could do my old job much much better.  I did not retire my Frost, I just use him where he is needed most, or when doing a slow resource solo.  Globe itself does not need a nerf, change, swap, or disable, players need to respect each other more and work as a team.  I am not saying for Frosts not to use their skills, I am saying that they should be using them wisely to help the team, and not hinder, especially when asked nicely by other players to cooperate.
