Sooo, you're a funny guy. Well. 1.5million tenno kills speaks to a much higher player base. And that's just one clan. Conclave is conclave. Just a game mode that exists in games such as these. Real warframe pvp has yet to return, and when it does, you'll see a huge player base return

Imagine if Railjack and PvP were done right, fit within the game, and were thriving. Would you enjoy a Railjack PvP if it went somewhere along the lines of this?

You have three different game modes:

        - 1v1

        - Group (3 per team, 2 teams)

        - Free4all battles.

The goal is to gain access and infiltrate your the opponent's ship, and kill the pilot.

        The roles and count are:

            Pilot - 1

            On-board Crew - 3*

            Archwing Blizters - 4

You cannot change your role mid-match.

*On-board Crew number is less than Archwing Blizters, as they have the advantage while the AB are infiltrating. OBC cannot camp near the entrances, and must stay at least 20 meters from each entrance.

Players can select between four different predetermined loadouts of each of the following:

        - Archwing

        - Archgun

        - Archmelee

        - Primary

        - Secondary

        - Melee

Each weapon has the same effective stats and basic attack mods, modified to compensate for ammo type (beam weapon damage will be modified to output the same effective damage as full-auto, etc.)

You can use any Warframe for cosmetic purposes, but your abilities will be split into different loadouts (like classes), and your health be at 3,000, Shields at 2,000, Energy at 300, and Armor at 150. These stats are the same for Archwing.

    The Warframe classes are:

     - DPS

     - Tank

     - Healer

     - Buff Support

. On-board Crew will always have 2 DPS and 1 Tank.

Teams are required to have at least 2 different Warframe roles in 1v1 and free4all, and at least one of each 4 Warframe roles in group battles. You can choose weapons to your liking.

1v1, where the railiacks and archwings have more health to compensate for less opponents, and group battles where the health is less, but still substantial. F4a will be the same as group battles in terms of health and shields.

I don't want this to be a "2 minute rush - we're done" type of deal. I want it to be an actual grand, epic battle that takes time, strategy, and quick thinking.

I, in no way, ever expect this to be a thing. But do you think, if done well, this would be fun, or do would you rather stick with other content?

This is an awesome idea, yes!!

I'd just like to second this. I remember the addition of dueling in U8 and conclave maps in U10 All with full warframe abilities and weapon profiles, it was a mess.

All that effort: special stats for Warframes, Weapons, custom game modes and maps and it gets less use than the trials did (remember the 1.29% trials vs 1.07% PvP stats Reb gave out in

You don't like conclave? Wow, I think the entire community of warframe will raise a glass to this. High five. Conclave is a shell of what it once was, and was a poor replacement for rails in the first place. I played a lot of conclave, but was always very clear in the fact that I didn't like the destiny ripoff version of pvp that replaced the very unique, amazing Dark Sectors. And I know a lot of my own people who disagree with me and love conclave, but that's because... they never tried rails.  And I think DE changes game modes because of game mechanics and lag issues more than some kids crying about it. Conclave 1 0 was fine. So was parkour 1.0. Why take out the physics engine. But if you're looking for a chart other than the one you just mentioned, who's math was never explained.... HOW YOU GET THOSE NUMBAS... I digress. Check out death snacks charts on activity levels for dark sectors. (Death Snack being taken down in 2017, but the data still exists) If ANY real effort had been put to maintaining the AMAZING game mode that was created (few bugs. But very clean upon release btw, grats to the Devs involved) we could have held those numbers. Anyone remember how profitable trade chat was?

When I started there was no pvp.  People were asking for it, though.

1 They added the dojo pvp rooms. Nothing major about it, just for giggles. It had no balancing at all since it used pve stats, battles would literally take only 2 seconds to end most times. People kept asking for more.

2 Then came conclave 1.0 where it was 1v1 or 2v2 matches on specific starchart nodes. People kept asking for more.

3 Then came the Solar Rails. The zero-balancing issues from dojo pvp was still there. Skill barely mattered, it was a gear check. Groups that brought the best (cheese) frames & weapons had an unfair advantage. If you wanted to beat that, you had to join that bandwagon. Some frames had their first versions of press-4-to-win skills back then, there was no defense against them once they got unlocked, the battle was already decided at that point. People who dished out this cheapness obviously remember this game mode with rose-colored glasses, not so much if you were on the receiving end. This and all the taxing fiasco just made the whole thing a failure for everybody not in the alliance cartels. They shut it down and people kept asking for more.

4 Then came conclave 2.0 and the chore of having to re-balance everything for it. It has no proper matchmaking skills or an in-game mechanic to close that gap (think Blue Shell from Mario Kart). This fails to retain novice players and only hardcore players stick around. People kept asking for more. ("lack of rewards" was never its problem, stop bringing that up)

5 Lunaro was introduced. Dead on arrival. People kept asking for more.

6 DE's other pvp game, The Amazing Eternals gets shut down before leaving closed beta. Most people didn't even know this existed to ask for more. (Personally I think that instead of making this, they should've made Warframe conclave as its own separate game as it was already very popular)

Warframe is now 7 years old. Its playerbase is vehemently established to be PVE-based. Nothing wrong with that, pvp isn't a mandatory content that all online games must have.
You got to give DE credit for trying this many times to attempt their hand at pvp. Other game studios would've stopped after one attempt. And for the umpteenth time because still too many people believe this, they had no hand in the core design of the Unreal Tournament games, that was all Epic. DE only assisted in designing some models and maps, not the gameplay and the engine.

If you like conclave as it is now, enjoy it and be happy it's there at all and not removed like trials, since it doesn't cause game-breaking bugs to the rest of the game. But I don't expect DE to spend any more resources and time into it, based on the multitude of attempts I numbered above. It's just not economically sound anymore to do so in a 7 year old game. To still think that conclave can be salvaged and become popular is like the players who still stick around train wrecks like Fallout76 and Anthem. if you can't fix a disaster within 1 year of launch (like No Man's Sky), it just ain't happening.

I'm a numbers-and-facts guy, I don't do wishful thinking that the power of friendship and plot armor can make Warframe into a pvp powerhouse. If conclave as it is today was added since day 1, it might actually have been a success. But a lot of players of today would then never even have bothered to try this game out since they specifically came here for a pve-only experience. In this alternate timeline, who knows how Warframe would have fared 7 years later.

        People keep asking for it.

Dojo duels were kinda lame until we realized we could break out of the dueling room and fight in the dojo. Then we realized we could set up ppl in our dueling rooms to constantly break players out of the dueling room to have mass fights in the dojo. Then we realized that if you killed a player twice, they'd respawn able to attack other players but not the player who killed them twice. If you killed more players then more people couldn't hurt you but could hurt other people. And the players they killed ALSO couldn't hurt you. This was hidden dojo duel game mechanics already in the game, that no one had explored before.           So we had massive zombie fights in the dojo. I started showing content creators how to do it and even had Wgrates come to xbox to play it. Unfortunately dojo duels 2.0 came out and we couldn't do it by the time he came to xbox.

Conclave 1.0 was pointless after Dark Sectors hit. Since it was MR locked it was indeed a gear check. Still fun, conclave 2.0 pre-zaw was better.

Dark Sectors, required insane skill, and little or no mods as the match played by pros only last about five min. The player with the highest KD only had two frames and three weapons, and yet 5k kills. Real time combat and strategy. AoW and AR had formed a secret alliance to take down The Order, which was xbox version of ICE. Then we won all our wars until the last when clans grouped up and beat us. Thankfully DE put up armistice before we had our crown completely taken. At the time of armistice, there were six super alliances (in that alliances broke cap to have more players and formed secret alliances between alliances to form super alliances, some numbering up to 10k) That's xbox numbers. The PC numbers were higher. When Armisitce hit, those alliances dissolved and slowly faded away. This conversation shows there is a demand. I literally came back to forums because of that demand. The super alliances were an actual bug. Not DS specific though. The specters that you could add without finishing your army, that was a real bug. Infinite floating Mesa, that was a bug but wasn't DS specific. Some nodes became glitched and would require a daily reset to be able to launch on them. That was a real bug. We have easy solutions to each of those things. Game mechanics that exist to this day.

Dark Sectors DID have a balancing system, restricted mods and weapons. And since you started at lvl 0 and had to kill your way to level up, and with most matches over by lvl 10-15, you can see why I'm a bit confused about your facts and numbers.

Perhaps DE listened to inexperienced players and didn't have the correct feedback to fix the FEW actual bugs, when most of the complaints were rumors or sore losers. With the feed back negative, DE tries to placate players by nerfing. Revamping and eventually giving up on PvP game modes. I think the real issue is that people will always complain regardless of what you do.  And DE will always try and listen. Because they're Canadian, and polite. >.<

There are large groups of extremely experienced players who only work on DS and Conclave their rebirth. PvE just had it's biggest update ever. Seven years of it actually. With the PvE burnout, a PvP endgame wouldn't be a gamble, it would be a adrenaline shot to the forehead of the most advanced game ever created.

    This is an amazing idea.

I use to play DC Universe Online and they had something similar.

You could pvp with your own, overpowered, super heroes or villains or you could do "Legends" which was basic, less OP pvp with characters like Sinestro, Donna Troy, Superman etc.

It was the place we went when you wanted to prove: "Can you actually fight without your op modded out character?"

You're either Carried or you have chops!

Oh man you have no idea how awesome dark sectors were. Tens of thousands of players vrs tens of thousands of other players in an all out objective based game mode. I cant post the link here because he swears a lot, but check out the Warframe Content creator Evanz111 and his video titles "Dark Sectors are Amazing" . He admittedly had never ran one before, so you don't get to see the first two door locks as he came in late to the game, but explains it fairly well. And keep in mind this video was made when Warframe still had a physics mechanic...

Boosted kills? Kinda an unfounded accusation rather than a reply, but it's fine, because you may have misheard me. CFE holds the title for highest player kill count, sitting at around 1.5 million tenno killed. I definitely don't have the highest kd. I usually only played against tryhard CFE players who RUINED my kd. Those guys can be jerks

Call of duty advance warfare is basically conclave but has that thing that you will never experience, a playerbase

No. Just... No. I was rank 1 master division of league play in BO2. I took three clans to diamond in ghost. I got the new modern warfare and kept a 2.0 using only the combat knife. (Got the knife and shield plat, boo ya) I founded CFE, and took the highest player kill count overall in warframe.

So please, you can hate on PvP all you like, but please trust me when I say that a realistic fps is not any way similar to a 3rd person scyfy dog fight , where I fly through the air snapping shots at a million miles an hr.

      Cheers

The Thing about PvP is it has to be baked in from the start. The demands in progression, net code, engine and item balance are all too differnt to those of PvE.

And really, trying to PvP in warframe is like orderng a hamburger at a proper ityalian pitza place. You'll probibly get one but you are missing the point amd there almoast certainly a place nearby that is more focussed on giving you what you want.

Thats to say nothing of the effects on a comunity of having people go from fellow players to actave competitors.

And, wellnot to be blunt? We were given reall meaningfull PvP, the dark sectors lead to more DDOS attacks than actual in game ones.

Inconclusion: no, stop asking, find one of several FTP PVP games and scratch the itch there, every one will be happyer and you'll burn out on both games more slowly wih the variety.

       Lol. Um... where to start...

    1) PvP has been in warframe from the start and has a fairly large following even after being put on the back burner for years.

    2) The conclave balancing isn't the pvp balance and was added much later.

    3) Dark Sectors never actually caused any DDOS attacks. The rumor that someone was DDOSing a rail to prevent people from launching on it was just that, a rumor. What actually was happening was a bug that was addressed by DE much later. And you couldn't change the schema and stop people from being able to launch on it either. Trust me... I tried...

    4) The same thing can be said to you. Go play a different game. Plenty of mob killers out there. Warframe has always had both elements, pvp and PvE, it's a huge draw in games such as these. However I'm not saying that to you., and I don't want them to take away PvE. I think we should both be able to play. And with pvp as popular as it is with little or no attention paid to it as DE rushed to fend off the PvE burnout, should speak for itself.

    5) PvE has had years of content and YOUR pve community is what is burning out. There are plenty of pvpers waiting for conclave balancing, and DS conflicts. Plenty of content creators that left warframe commenting that it could use a competitive endgame. Just look at all the discussions on this forum. That's too many people to call a burnout

This is an old idea. Really, it just needs to be player vs players' enemies. Meaning we dont kill frames, just enemies owned by opposition.

    Hired. If you will.

The one thing pvp doesnt need is tweaked movement. It should be as chaotic and fast as the normal gameplay regardless of any goal or mechanic.

Truth be told, i had a ds rework suggestion from years back that was esentially gradivus dilemma vs clans that have deployed rails into dark sectors.  Do missions to score points against that clan. And in it, all clans could deploy. Rewards were pretty abundant but limited in scope based on paths. So youd support numerous clans across the star chart, clearing sectors in their name, based on rewards you intended to work toward. The rewards a clan could offer was unlocked via standing earned for competing and also for victories. This way, an alliance of several clans could all work toward separate reward goals, and have an incentive to support eachother in various conflicts.

Think of it as the north and south us racing to claim the midwest. Each army composed of state militia. And each militia offering different pay.

I think a more Lore friendly way of handling it, is to have different tier ds nodes. Where a clan must conquer nodes on a path towards a larger alliance tier node. Each paying out a different tier as well. That way you must choose a set path and would require a lot of effort to turn your course for a different node. The energy used to power the rail should also degrade over time. And should most definitely have pvp. Even archwing pvp if you can swing it. Remember, no other game mode has kept such a loyal following for so long after it was removed.

PvP isn't a niche community, it's the largest community in the world. PvE players and mob killers are a niche. While, yes, a large portion of your community falls within that actual niche. But that is largely due to decisions made about armistice. When your biggest update yet, only draws a return of about 20k more tenno than your normal numbers, then you'll see that even within that niche community of PvE bot killers, there is a large demand from competitive endgame.

Vulari is experienced with every aspect this game has to offer. From PvE to PvP, from clan politics to cornering the market. He has done it all. I'd trust his opinion on Solar Rails and Railjack a lot more than I would trust a rando on the internet.

Thank you Repo. I remember fighting on a solar rail with you. Badly out numbered, 10% left on our core, 0 lives left. Enemy charging down the hall to finish the run. Repo is standing on the other side of the wall. As they level with him he Mag pulls at the wall and you watch bodies rag doll. Pop of a vectis and Hitsquad driver takes a L. Those were the days.

People who are not ready for endgame content have no right to comment on it.

We watered down warframe to cater to the casuals long enough. None of these players who are complaining about PvP care if #warframe succeeds or not. They just want a game mode that they are not skilled enough to play, to not exist, so as to not feel like a loser in the game they claim to main.

I am in no way saying that conclave is good. As the founder of CFE, who holds the highest player kill count to date, I can, with some confidence, say that conclave is trash. Hasn't been good since before the zaw update. Now with the telos boltas and the Kuva bow, we are looking at dojo duels on conclave maps.

Which is an example of DE catering to casuals at the cost of their vets. We enjoyed conclave and had a decent community on xbox, but so many melee casuals complained and now we have the same two buttons for every combo. We have auto block. And we got AoE procs that should have never touched conclave.

These PvE players saying No to PvP have no real recourse. Just want to cripple an already fading game. If y'all get your way it will just be the same six PvE players sitting in the dark playing solo missions muttering "red rum, red rum" over and over to themselves

.    End armistice. Ignore the hardline "murder pvp" players. There are enough content creators and dedicated veterans who will put the time and effort into helping find SOLUTIONS to issues rather than just trying to bury it.

You want to make them happy at the same time? Take conclave back to 1.0. MR lock it. Then they can say they've killed a pvp gamemode and we can focus on what's important. Territory conquest game modes.

  12.     I see where people are talking about the insane movement of pvp players as if that is a flaw in the game. That is literally the apex of the game's movement system. Those players aren't doing anything special, but it does take a lot of practice to aim and fire on a moving target while flying through the air. This doesn't mean this same parkour isn't for PvE as well. Of course it is. I have YouTube videos of us running a nightmare raid with no hud. Bots cant really hit you if you are using your parkour to it's fullest. Also, any old raid speed runner also used this same parkour method. Once you get the hang of it, you can control it amazingly. DE once commented that warframe combat is supposed to be like an aerial dog fight.

Of course if the argument is if to bring back physics to warframe parkour, making it difficult again, I'm totally down for that.

  13. Railjacks are amazing. Great gameplay. A few bug's, but for the content size, very well done. Good job DE! Had an elite dangerous feel, but better. Upgraded ship to the fullest and now I never die. Two ppl min for each game, but it's actual PvE endgame content, so expect it to be challenging and not your normal pve walk in eden. I'm sooo excited for the future updates, fingers crossed for archwing pvp

You're clearly showcasing what was (and is) wrong with "muh pvp" dudebros.  Stay salty, my friend!

I have an example. Have you seen all the people complaining about rail Jack's? I have been playing it all morning. Got my gunner to lvl 3, engineer to lvl 2 and pilot lvl 3. This is the most fun I've had on warframe in years. Great content, fun, exciting, and challenging. I'm not salty bud. I'm telling my truth. If that ruffles some feathers, I'm sorry if you felt targeted by me. You're not and I'm not. But the truth hurts, and I have 3800hrs of game play to consider these things.

  15. In 2019 DE pushed out more new content than the base game itself. But how is warframe stagnant? Because PvE content has a shelf life. If you bring back a PvP endgame you would improve the game drastically, yes there would be people who complain, but no more than normal. Ending armistice will give you fresh content without anything further.

  16. PvE, just because you don't like 5% of the game which is PvP, doesn't mean you should scrap pvp all together. You're talking about overwatch, which is a completely different type of game. If you want a close pvp relevance in another game, I'd say... ESO? Black Desert? And FYI, a lot of warframe pvpers moved to those games after armistice.

Warframe updates content more than any other game. Destiny does content drops like once a year. We are taking resources from PvE? I think you're missing the point. Warframe is warframe. We don't want your resources, we just want armistice to end. Give us back the game mode taken.

Imagine procrastinating for five years to revamp a game mode. Everyone who encouraged you to do so has died and disappeared, what is left are people who don't know enough to care.

  17. I love railjacks for the dark sectors they promise, but I'm going to have to agree with you Cheers brother. After rework, you and I and the rest of the community need to put out tutorials for railjack. If we work together now we can ensure a better tomorrow.

Anyone who knows me knows I hate pop, but even I must admit, I would definitely at least *try* a corpus vs grineer mode. There's one problem though... the game is called warframe, and would DE be willing to dedicate some of its resources to mode where we aren't even using them. Then there's the issue of balancing the mode, and how would slower paced combat feel (since we wouldn't have bullet jumping or rolling, or any parkour moves). Would people even like that? I'm not totally sure, and I'd hate for yet another pop mode to backfire on DE.

But at least then it would be official that pvp would be forever dead and likely get scrapped, so confirmation is still something gained IMO.

Yeah, how about... no. Hard No. Once again, if antisocial players do not want social game modes, then please, the game has all the content you could ever desire. Make a new profile. Fashion frame with your comrades. And allow us to grow as a game. Don't let our game die because you're too bitter to be open minded.
