  1. Yeah scared the Endo out of me because i had just encountered and been killed by my second Lich, thought it was her somehow back a second time in the mission, until I saw the name and the transmission (they both have the same headpiece/face) -- Good ol' AUDI FILKOHD to the rescue... which actually just distracted me into death... Again.

I am serious with this question, HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO ENTER CONTEST ANYWAYS???? I tried by posting a shot to Twitter and linking it here, but all I got was told off, what are you even supposed to do to enter????

Please make it clear, the foggy rules are truly infuriating 😞

Same as every other screen shot contest... the only post you put here should be a link or ideally embed image from where you have uploaded your entry, a site such as “imgur”... that’s it. Easy and done.

  3. While I'm sure this has been said.. at least I hope it has... But I can't seem to find it... So, I have a few images to better clarify what we got for Decoration Contribute, versus what we wanted for Decoration Contribute... I'd love a serious technical explanation of why it wasn't implemented this way, or if it's possible to add this in the future? - and if there's already a thread I'm missing, please link me!

I would much rather place my 40-200 decorations and then contribute to all of them at once... That way I'll know how much of each resource in total aggregate, rather than just per piece without having to track the math... and it would be A LOT faster... contribute all per-item isn't significantly faster, especially when you have a great number of items overlapping and intersecting (as we can now) and it might be difficult or impossible to select them once they're behind another decoration, without moving the whole thing...

What we got: Per-decoration contribute all to the specific decoration.

    Spoiler

What I believe we all wanted: Per-room contribute to ALL decorations in the ENTIRE room:

My completely Unbound school Operator, with more health and the same armour as a Warframe, who regenerates 4 health per second and has the fastest and most controllable movement cast in game, an invulnerability mode at will, and a choice between massive energy regen with electric procs on demand, damage boosting and blinding enemies for bonus damage, disarming and proc'ing confusion, or breaking enemy armour while being even more tanky... Not to mention Arcane boosted for more health and armour...

Yeah, that Operator is laughing at you right now. Because, apart from the damage they can deal (which is sub-par compared to almost all modded weapons, but higher than most un-modded ones), that is an ability set and base stats that let me go pretty much anywhere and expect to do as well on survivability as any Warframe could expect.

Granted they were trying to make a point with that statement, but we all know well that any operator or frame in skilled hands is capable of great things. - Though as far as the original topic, I would say that - as i recall - the devs already adressed two of the most major points in this thread... 1. If you choose to go unarmed without a melee weapon, then you are choosing no melee, the ONLY reason it exists in a Zanuka Recovery is because you don't have POWERS immediately to give you any alternative of damage ability...... and 2. Rhino was SUPPOSED to have Furax in the Profit trailer, but they didn't get animated in within the time allotted before the event they needed it for...which is NOT a valid argument for saying we should be able to punch things with "our" bare "hands". - though there IS the argument that the Operator is NOT allowed in all cases just yet, SO, it MIGHT be nice to have something to at least ONLY break containers, or perform Stealth Finishers, if operator is not unlocked or available at that time, and you've run out of ammo..... I was there in the days before you could UNequip weapons, where you could easily run out of ammo, there were no restores, and you'd have to finish off the jackal with Meele slide attacks with the Dual Ether to ignore it's armor... which is exactly why they were originally hesitant about letting us unequip weapons at all.... but thing have progressed... maybe they will progress further on this topic in the future... but i feel there are far omre important fun gameplay types, quests, worlds, and stories to tell before they update this... and then again they may just retcon this like the moon... Steve's Bourbon List only knows... LOL

It was pointed out to me a few days ago that one cannot remove a lens; I just didn't think to update the post.

    Sarcasm noted. ;)

(Thumbs Up)  Still wish it was, even if it's a destroy, not a recover.

Then I think, right now, your best bet is either to level a new non-lensed melee weapon, or remove a lens from a weapon you don't mind not having lensed. :)

Please bestow upon us this magical method of removing a lens... we would LOVE to know how to do that...

No, that's not how it works.

Here's the thing: The database stores the colors for the 4 (which are already the max) values associated to the Tint mask file. Whether it's default "blank" (which are then retrieved from the client) or any other color value; all that info is stored on their end. On our end, the untintable areas are retreived by our own client: Thus, in old Prime days, that means gold was not saved, there was no info and the gold texture was loaded from the client itself as a different texture map.

Because of how PBR tinting works, the metallics need a slot alocated in the Tint mask file. In fact, from Excalibur Prime to Nyx Prime (except Frost, who always only had 3 values for color) two tint channels have been merged into one to make space for the metallic tint.

So it's not that DE doesn't want a separate tint, it's that there is no easy way for them to do it (in fact I've even googled for info on this a few times and the only few solutions I found have some disadvantages).

So it's a little of both in that the engine would have to support a 5-color tint mask for the metallics, AND that data would have to be stored on the servers? Is that not technically more data values which get updated every time you change a color?? Perhaps not in the "access style data grid sense", but it is more information to store, is it not?.... Then in addition to that, also that a 5-Color tint mask is a hard thing to do? (At least in this engine?)

  8. In a way that's kinda how it used to be before Prime Gold accents were customizable.... but the servers were still storing your 5 colors... agreed that an option like that would take a rewrite, but not to the color application process,.. rather to the database...

The master database would have to suddenly accommodate a 6th color for 20 Prime Warframes (with Zephyr), and double(?) that for the Prime Weapons, add maybe 25(?) for prime accessories, and Archwing. then multiply by Over 30 Million accounts......  That's the addition of over 2.5 BILLION entries into the database... now multiply that by 3, for three Appearance slots per account...  7,650,000,000.... 7.65 Billion entries... just to add ONE more color slot for the metallic of prime items...  and the database crew was already crying when they added yet another 5 Purchasable Loadout Slots....... PLEASE correct my math if it's out of order, but it's A LOT of data to add to the database... I'd rather it filled with worlds, missions and KWEENS.

Welp, the Sentients is what you've been fighting in TSD and on Lua.

The Infestation is "a weapon that backfired", and I doubt making more Infested makes the life easier for all of the factions.

I'm well aware that the Orokin used Technocyte for the Infested and Warframes, but they still couldn't control or stop neither of them. Just sayin'

    sentients? whut

just saying but orokin made both infested virus and all warframes. who wouldn't combine the two for massive devastation?

    and thus lore is fixed

I believe the poster's context is regarding a single specific Sentient, THE Sentient of note: Lotus/Natah. "What makes [Lotus] think she/we/orokin can control the infestation as a warframe"... but maybe we can't? maybe that's where Helminth comes in... but we won't see how the pieces fit together until things [literally] have time to grow with him.

Also, we (older players) waited 3 years to even HAVE a narrative of this level in the game... so we know that good things are worth waiting for in this crazy story... Also, regarding the jumpy nature between the sentients, the queens, now this... it only SEEMS jumpy because we're getting it all at once immediately on publish as higher rank, older players... to the newer player just progressing through lower content, it's more staggered out.. and in the context of the timeline, it's not like the grineer put things on hold so we can deal with the corpus... come at it with the perspective that ALL things are happening mostly simultaneously.. Natah > Second Dream > War Within  is definitely Linear because it precludes knowledge from the previous and directly centers around the Tenno, but the grineer don't stop oppressing just because we're off on a wild Moa chase.

why does Helminth give you some sort of Space-Plague, etc.

I'll begin by talking about the room. The room itself seems to resemble a sort of cockpit

"Helminth" is actually a taxonomy of parasitic worms, if we think about this in the sense of a parasite (read: technocyte) being helminth, then Nidus is the host being for him/her/it (channel your inner stargate and go'a'ould theories)

I'd argue that it looks more like it used to be the orbiter's medical bay... though while he hints the line that only his voice has returned, rather than the bed in back being a medical stabilization unit, perhaps the infestation has made it to be something akin to the way LeeLoo was reconstructed in The Fifth Element and after incubating Helminth perhaps it will transfer to the pod to become a whole entity again?  Infested doctor on board?

also in certain cases, even before the constant appearance of the neck node, you can see the cyst growing in the navigation view, or when using your Focus power (not transference) to exit your frame in missions so that your frame slumps over.

Yep some colors together just look so fantastic I really want to see what it would look like with 8 Nidus on a raid

If all 8 had different colors, that might make the Grineer lock puzzle easier because you could Color code each button, AND link to an enemy for damage reduction, AND spam 2 for crowd control... Beautiful! ... I guess Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Violet, Pink., or designate the Leader with White and drop Cyan? (Just thoughts)

  12. Spoiler

The chamber door is supposed to open for you to make it to the Nav console at the front of the landing craft. If the doors aren't opening, it's a bug, I had to force quit the game several times.. - and I'm thinking the sentinel there to aid the purge is part of the mechanic, possibly likely be there even if it weren't equipped initially.. Just keep moving

also: only loading screen transitions are 'save points'.. if you have to force quit after one, you will be back to the beginning of last transition.

  13. Currently, ranked mods are displaying incorrectly in the iOS version of the Warframe mobile app. Though I think I recall seeing this in Android too.

Installed mods in the Arsenal are displaying stats one rank below the actual mod in-game.

Example, Vitality. My installed mod is at R10, but the app is displaying stats for R9.

Obviously this doesn't significantly impact the usage of the app since you can't actively change mods from mobile. But I thought it worth mentioning since I noticed it occurring in my view whether the app was max rank or not. And since there is a push for updating mods for clarity.

  14. Coincidentally as I discovered just today: Weapons and warframe powers that deal Cold damage will extinguish these environmental fire effects. - I'm not sure what update this feature was added with, but it is certainly a help.

I noticed it first with the ground slam of the Sibear, then tested with the Sonicor adding only Cold mods, and the Glaxion with its innate Cold damage. All easily extinguished large patches, and the blast of the explosion from "Combustion Beam" on the Glaxion also extinguished the flames indirectly (as the C.Beam blast appears to inherit the main damage type of the weapon).

Frost's powers seem inconsistent: Freeze (1) will directly extinguish, but Ice Wave (2) & Snow Globe (3) will not. Avalanche (4) will only extinguish indirectly, it will not damage the fire itself, but the AOE blast of cold from a shattered enemy's death will extinguish the flames. Detonating a Snow Globe from the outside with Freeze will extinguish flames from the resulting blast.

I expected that the snow effect from avalanche, the freezing wind in the globe, or the wave of ice crystals would also directly extinguish the flames -- they do not.

Further testing ahead as I see no mention of these being extinguishable on the wiki other than by corpus window decompression, and I haven't tried anything with bullets or blades, or other frames' powers augmented by cold such as Chroma or Zephyr.

    ------

I will also point out, that a warframe is a versatile, moddable tool, and there are mods that assist in partially negating this damage. Whether or not you want to use them to your advantage rests solely on your pros and cons regarding your mod loadout. It may be that they reduced the time required to proc fire on us because they added the ability to extinuish it.

And don't say you weren't warned, Tenno... :)   "Stay away from the fire." - Lotus

    Spoiler

PS: I will agree though that perhaps the elemental frames (at least) should have some resistance to their own element... Frost shouldn't lose shields from the cold (or he should only lose a quarter? "This is Frost, colder and more deadly than space itself", except when the air conditioner is on??), Ember should be immune to fire procs, Saryn should have reduced time to toxin procs (though this can be argued with Molt's proc clear now), and Volt should probably take less damage from electricity, or be supercharged if struck by lightning on Ceres!

  15. With Maxed Serration & Split chamber (the only mods I have adding to IPS damage) my Dread's Slash Damage is at 906.3, this has been consistent for as long as I've had the weapon during Damage 2.0. (2 years).. To my knowledge the Dread's damage has not changed since Damage 2.0 was released.

Recall that the dread's power lies in it's critical rate and damage:
A guaranteed crit, at my crit damage rate of 5.6x means a base slash damage of  906.3 x 5.6 = 5075.28 Slash Damage with Yellow Crit.
    I also have Corrosive at a Base 1208.4  -- Critical calculation: 1208.4 x 5.6 = 6767.04 Corrosive Damage with Yellow Crit...

Also the UI sometimes does not update the calculations on damages as quickly as it should.

30,000 cryotic is a problem because the resource can only be attained from a single mission type, meaning to get the weapon you have to play the same mission over and over and over. DE talks a lot about wanting to de-incentivize endlessly grinding a single mission (e.g., Draco), and then they release a weapon that requires endlessly grinding a single mission? I'm getting mixed signals here, DE.

I've been playing regularly for over two years, and yet I have not amassed a large stash of cryotic because I find excavation to be excruciatingly dull, perhaps the second most un-fun game mode after archwing defense. Currently I have less than a thousand cryotic, after having spend most of what I had to build Trinity Prime. I probably won't be able to get Sibear for a very long time, because I don't want mastery fodder badly enough to spend my free time repeatedly playing a game mode I do not enjoy.

It's true that cryotic can be gotten BEST from Excavation, but it appears as timed rewards in survivals, daily logins, wave rewards in defenses, and cache rewards in sabotages.

Try a different viewpoint... "endless grinding".. yeah if you go FOR the cryotic...... Go to repolarize something, go for the drill-completion rewards... go to have something to occupy your mind on a sunday night while you call a family member or friend to act like a good person and catch up with them... go to farm Focus points... Go because you have your favorite frame and weapons equipped and you enjoy using them... go because you're angry at something and need to 'kill' things to let off some steam... go for any reason other than the cryotic and you'll have more than you realize before you know it....

  17. 18 minutes ago, The_Masked_Man said:

My only problem with the 30k cryotic is that higher level planets don't reward more per dig, why should earth give the same amount as like Pluto or something, I don't know where the highest node is, but why should I put in more effort for only 100 when I could cry my eyes out in boredom for like an hour? I know the better planets give you higher rewards that's fine but why do you not get anymore cryotic? Shouldn't a higher level planet have a richer supply of the stuff?

Then submit the idea and put it in front of the Dev's faces in other places.. I agree with the idea as the risk could/should reap better reward for more cryotic, not just the full drill rewards.

    it IS a problem

no weapon should require that much of resources >_>

Why? Why shouldn't a somewhat good, powerful weapon require work and abundant resources? Compare to the super rare, super good weapon or armor drops in other MMORPG style games: unless you are the "chosen one" and get every good drop on the first dungeon run, then you have to work and take time, and organize yourself and save up for that content.

Just because Warframe isn't "generally" like that, doesn't mean it cannot or should not have some things that are meant as loftier goals... You can't instantly come in as an unranked and expect everything to be available, that's not logical in any game....

What's the difference between farming your cryotic over a longer time for this weapon, or having to wait for the Azima as the 100 day tribute? you still have to wait, but this you 'can' get a lot faster... The developer of any game gets NOTHING out of making, or letting you play as little as possible to finish everything quickly.

Many people, (in my opinion), should stop thinking about more more more, and gimme gimme gimme, and focus on the JOY and FUN of playing this GAME... nobody's forcing you to use any weapon, and I often use unpopular weapons... I've trashed popular weapons that I totally dislike...

Stop believing that every part of every game will fulfill all your hopes and dreams, IT WON'T EVER HAPPEN. accept that, and move on.

Just because something doesn't work FOR YOU doesn't mean that it doesn't work AT ALL.
