  1. I play 1 hour of survival on my college laptop easily without seeing a drop in framerate. 4 gigs of RAM, Nvidia GT 850M and a quad-core i5 processor. Playing at highest settings without the particles and VSYNC. The issue isn't in your rig, per se.

Are you sure it's not overheating?

Overheating will cause the entire system to reboot instantly, but to answer your question not at all.Ironically last week a friend of mine bought and build a new pc and he was stress testing it. I decided to do the same things to compare them results:

Prime 95 on my pc, it went maximum on 64C and on his OC system about 75C.

OCCT gpu, both systems locked on 60C. As a matter of fact, my GPU never goes about 60 at all.

I have never ever in my life had overheating issues, the only time when I managed to crash it on purpose was with a GTX 570 3 years ago when I messed live with afterburner while having BF4 on by playing with the fan speeds on. I managed to crank that card up to 106C when it crashed.

I remember even at that temp I was able to play for about 7 minutes. And it didn't died, that gpu still works as I gave it to a coworker of mine which he uses at this very moment:)

  2. Don't get those symptoms , no. But i'll assume its because there's alot of stuff on screen (mods , energy , HP etc...)

after 20 minutes it can bog down a system.

Fair enough, now can you describe me why before 16.5 I never experienced those issues?

  3. I don't know if it my rig or not, but after the last major update I had serious issues with the game.

In short a description: After 20 minutes in Triton, or any void mission, the game starts to deliver graphical lags (gamplay stops very oftern for about 2-3 seconds) and then suddently it crashes to the desktop without any warning or just remains frozen (not even CTRL+ALT+DEL would help, it need a compete reboot).

To those directing the issue to my rig, I can say that I haven't done any changes to the pc in the last 3 months, not even installing any new software. It is up to date and only warframe is behaving this way since it's last major update, the rest of the games are perfoming without any problems at all.

There might be a possible issue with the game memory as playing mag/nova or saryn where it involves a lot of explosions and killing accelerates this issue in my eyes, I also opened up the task manager and it was at 11gb ussage (!!!).

  4. Hello there,

    Hey,

So you claim 80% of the playerbase (nice round number pulled out of a hat) are farming voids, or affinity, or whatever. Just void farming by itself is a varied activity, with different difficulty levels and breadth of missions. There's plenty of choice there to keep people entertained. I get it, those who have been playing for long enough are bored, because they have everything there is to have. How in the world is locking content up for everyone but them going to fix that?

The way to make the star chart feel useful again is not to arbitrarily lock away parts of it. Alerts, invasions, syndicate missions, they're all activities which are actually fun and being pursued - per DE a few devstreams back, Syndicate alerts are very popular and they want to do more in this area. THIS is the way to go, not locking the game away for the elite few with time to spare. Give people a reason to come back, not force them to grind through it by moving the end-game goal-posts back.

Let me answer you that from my point of view:

I think you should be more open to suggestions m8, you are taking it too personal, directly downing every argument people have to say. I hope I am wrong, but I will give some thoughts to your words from my perspective, a player that has started in late January. I can also speak for a friend of mine who tried the game for 1 week.

From what I read from Fait, she isn't directly sugesting to lock content up, she is kindly saying to give the access to the map by going trough it rather than leaveing it open. To your direct reply from above, I do understand it is a random number, but yes, even with me as a new player that is exactly what I did. Finished Earth and the only stuff I do on Kappa and Draco is to level my stuff. Rest of it is only void (weapons) and the rest it is mostly untouched. Why? Because the rest are just maps with a different layout and I don't see a challange to go there. Indeed as of now, out of boredom, I am slowly getting there just for the sake of doing something, I am at 3/4 of each planet. I'd love to do the rest but there are simply no people to do them, especially the Interception maps.

I am not sure about the PS4, but on PC every single time and it is not BS I tried to go on completing other maps, I barely get 1 player extra to help me finish a different map. Also, my friend asked me "what's on the rest of the maps"? I told him, nothing intresting, they are there to keep you busy. When I "carried" him to my standard doing stuff and asked him to do the rest, he replied me with: "So basicaly the whole game is based on 3-4 maps and a void unless there is an Alert?", to which I've asked him to go and finish them just to have him say 20 minutes later that he would rather do void as there he would "at east" get something for his time.

Syndicates? Again I do not agree with you, most people I see in there are just rushing to the end, skipping the syndicate stuff, because they cba to search for it? (Where is the fun then?)

Yes they are popular in recuitment, when someone is using the word syndicate next to Draco/Excal/Trinity/GP Mag combo.

As it stands now, there's no such thing as "best" gun. They're all flavour, and that's bloody amazing. What makes a gun powerful is what mods you cram on them, and those are your personal progression - your power grows slowly over time, as you build up your mod collection, everything else is variety. Even the MR level, clunky as it is, is a way to entice players to try out everything, at least once. There's always going to be fad-of-the-month guns, but personally, I see that as a problem with the community, not the game.

Warframe is one of the few examples we have of non-exploitative,  non-grindy (if you think it is, you don't have a clue what a grindy game really is), wide-appeal F2P games there are. It's by no means perfect, but it has gone a hell of a long way in the Right direction; proposing changes that go against this is short-sighted and detrimental to the future of the game itself - keep it open, keep it accessible, keep it appealing to as many people as possible. Understand what the knock-on implications of proposed changes are, in terms of the economic impact on the game's viability.

    Cheers,

You are fighting with yourself m8. The variety of the weapons ingame it is insane, yet everything as in every other game simplified to the best weapon. While having the best weapon it is not a valid argument here (because it resumes to the end game only), it does make a difference because of the enemy scaling. The problem you are sinking yourself in is that you are contradicting your own words,You are saying yourself that a weapons become powerful because of the mods, slowly as you build them (implying it takes time and  hard work) and later calling the game "non-'grindy".

Well my friend this IS exactly what the game is, a repetitive massive grind fest. I have no problem with it, and you are right about every single word you said about weapons except non-grindy stuff.

I am MR13 now, thus yes a new player and I am already seeing black when I am thinking that only Serration, Heavy Cal took 1k+ cores to up them  and other mods are requiring 350+ cores to max them out, yes fortunately I have most of them maxed but I am mad at the ammount of time and effort I put into having them where they are now. No, I am not saying that people should reach max in 1 week or that you should have them at max, but it is the sheer ammount of stuff you need to get there, simply put, the general idea. Most of the weapons out there even with those mods aren't balanced for being useful when the enemy reached a challanging level, hence the best weapons in the game. Even, by taking a random weapon, funny as well but not doing well would cause problems with other players by leaving the party because they'd instaly know you are not up for the task.

So to make a weapon fun and viable, you need to farm. While indeed, with the right mods all the weapons can be fun, it is still impossible for a player to have fun with them, simply because you NEED those mods to be where It can make a weapon fun. Without them you can only focus on the best weapons if you want to do a proper Void where @wave 30 you will be heavily outdamaged.

To get rid of this issue they need to simplify the design by making any weapon viable for each encounter, rather than having 4 weapons with the most important stats dominate over the rest of <insert random number here>.

When my friend who can play at least 4 hours a week asked me about how much time would take for him to upgrade a mod like this in the way he plays, I told him that I don't know, but in my case to get 350 cores, depending on luck farming only one map over and over again would take me at least 4 to 6 hours even double if luck is not on my side, he gently replied with, "the first hour the game is insanely fun and promising, but now I am not motivated anymore because the ammount of grind involved". That was on his birthday March 7; he hasn't logged back in since then.

So there U have it, from the new players.

Right. So, some people decide to ruin their own experience, let's block the feature for everyone else. Taxiing is bad, because I know a guy who used it to massively rank up by means of exploiting a flaw in the game. I think the "solution" tackles the wrong problem. If, as you say, another loot cave will be found soon, removing taxiing will not make any difference. Instead, people will grind to unlock that one node and then not do anything else. How does taxiing even factor into that? Now, the root of the issue, which nobody wants to admit to, is that some are bothered by the people who go into the recruitment channels asking for a taxi somewhere.

I agree with you on this one, but there is more to it. Unexperienced people abusing the taxi, that is the problem. I think this is a split in what Fait requested about progression map. Lock the map to a degree so you cannot taxi it. Problem here is (and this is why I agree with locking it) a lot of unexperienced players are showing up, having no clue of what to do, not knowing the map, avoiding team play, running solo, dying a lot etc. That is the issue. There have been countless times when a 4 man squad turned into 2 man because the other 2 new comers had simply no idea of what is going on or rushing to the end and refusing to help only because he needed that specific map. I still have nightmaries while doing a Spy 2.0 missions and having explained their objective to fail at the exact same place 5 missions in a row.

As you said, removing taxiing is not the answer. On solution is to be harsh and lock it untill everyone is at least MR3-5, probably enough time to understand the basics. Just a thought...

Perhaps I'm not as jaded because, being time-poor, I don't have 40 hours a week to devote to the game. I want a more tactical play, by which I mean something other than copter through the level at light-speed, complete the objective and race to the extraction. Thanks for bringing up Spy 2.0, that's exactly the type of thing I want more of. It's something tactical, but not horribly complex. Running faster will not make it go any quicker or any better, yet it's simple in that the mechanics are trivial to understand. It can be completed by a solo player, or in a team, with just the same ease. It's not perfect, it can be improved, let's do that instead of taking a wrecking-ball to the other systems in the game.

Mission design where the rules change on a whim and where there are multiple necessary roles sound cool on paper, but are not very popular in practice. They're also very unfriendly to smaller groups or solo players, of which there is definitely a proportion of.

Changing the mission complexity it is requested because of your own very words. They are tactical but not very complex, easy to learn yet static.

Thing here is there is no immersion. Missions especially in a co-op should be immersive, having a bit of attraction, something unexpected to them, just the 3 seconds thought of "what should we do now" it's enough. They shouldn't be made to make you devote to them and spending hours on them. I remember one of the previous tactical when I was fightinig the manics, lots of them, suddenly, a bug made Lotus change the mission objective causing the manics not to spawn. Ironically we had that 3 times in a row making it believe that we had to search for them, thus yeah I found it quite challanging until we heard about it. This was just an example of what kind of mission I am interested in.

I believe Warframe it's a very fun game, but given the fact that it is designed around simplicity, yet involving a massive ammount of time to grow, I'd be amazed if even the devs are thinking this is a game for casuals/new players. While, there is NOTHING wrong with being casual, it does have to do with their tendancy of speaking up only from their POV, igoring the ones that are actually investing time, by closing any door, in an attempt to justify their presence and lack of progression or whatever reason they see fit. This game rather feels like an mmo game type challange, a thought of constantly growing but without the world. It isn't for elitists either, but for sure It is ment for the more serious type of player. Why am I thinking that, simply because the base it is build, you don't have time to play, dig in your wallet...you don't want to go there, then you have DE's blessing to start grinding^^ and by reading the forums in general, I get the feeling that there are less buyers than "players", thus the feeling is that the majority are asking for more than what we have now.

What is it for me? I am not a quitter, at least untill my goal is accomplished and yes I have been fooled by the ammount of time I spend on the game just to realize that in the end it is en empty picture. But having said that the only goal I have is to reach MR19 (if possible) and I am done if the game stays in the state it is now. Still a long way to go, still a personal challange and probably months to play. So to have a game with potential stagnate because it was good for 2 years of success yet be afraid to develop it and forcing me to stagnate too because of some refusing to accept a challange... well it's fine with me but,I don't think the future is bright in this DE garden.

I wish you all a very good day!!!

*EDIT SOmething messed up the quotes thingies

  5. Yeah, damage it is the same, but the ammo consumption it is insane. I normally wouldn't have a problem with it, but now, T4 have become a nightmare at about 30+, simply because you run out of ammo. At 40 in a survival I had to reload 2 and half times to kill a heavy ignoring everything else.

Now you might say, that exact same thing happens to the boltor, yes it is true, but with the rifle one I barely run out of ammo, while pistol ammo drops seems to be a problem. Even with a pack of 20+ dead mobs I've seemed to pick about 100 ammo compared to 300 used.

To compensate for this, I've added the ammo mutation and it was ok, but that started to fail at wave 35 in a defense where I couldn't keep up anymore as it isn't powerful enough to take down the targets because the fire rate is too low.

Simply put this weapons isn't a Void weapon anymore.

  6. I am interested in running this tonight or as soon as I find another 3 tenno's, at least this way I can find an reliable group.

I tried tonight trough the recruitment and got instant ppl, but a lot of whispers were guys warning me of other ppl (no names here) that as soon as they do 1-2 runs they simply leave and ignore you.

I know this doesn't mean this won't happen here, but I really want that mesa and I hope some ppl are willing to go with a full grp run.

Whisper me in game or leave a message here.

    Cheers

  7. Host makes  a little chance to see shields, everyone gets kicked from the party without an warning.

Host has a little error  or a glitch, everyone gets kicked out of the party again whitout an warning.

To the above the host wasnt me.

If for some reason game crashes or you get out of the party or the above is happening you lose all your progress in a 30 minutes t4 run, minutes I'll never get back.

It p******* me off when the mega super geniouses game designers are focusing on unimportant and they're talking like gods (twitch stuff) stuff and then come up with an excuse to avoid important stuff by saying it is complicated. If it is complicated then you have the wrong emplyoyees on your paycheck. You have the source code, fix the game, if you can't or don't know how, don't release the things that aren't working yet.

    Yes I am mad.

  8. You won't find unranked unless someone is really plat hungry.

I saw 3 ppl in 3 days selling them for 30p and unpon the convo in the following 2 minutes all had "so much offers" and price went up to 60. It is silent strategy because selling unranked for that price delivers more profit than trying to get as much as possible for an 7+. Not to mention those who are buying them just to resell them double the price.

@OP You paid ok, if I am to speak about the trade chat experience. Most of them will go straight into 200 for  rank 7, unless as posted above you have the nerves to spam for weeks.
