  1. Since there is no aggro mechanic in warframe you shouldn't think of tanks in that sense.  What dictates a tank imo in this game is the ability to take more damage then normal (with a few exceptions.)  IMO these would be rhino, Trinity, and chroma.

    Rhino being a tank/cc.

    Trinity being a support tank.

    Chroma being a support tank.

I am a bit weary on calling trinity a tank though.  I wouldn't consider valkyr a tank.  because she takes damage to dish damage.  Tanks are not really good at dishing damage only taking it.

theres no "tanking" in warframe in the form of getting enemy attention AND surviving it, if we exclude nyx' ult

While I agree with the conversation's topic, I have to ultimately disagree. Rhino may not be the best tank, but he is the most versatile one. Trinity, Valkyr and Chroma are the best suited to your typical damage sponge tanks IMO.

Now, this lack of aggro everyone keeps mentioning; you've forgotten about Ivara. Shoot a noise arrow at your "tank" and giggle. It's been said in this topic that Warframe does not have your typical tank, but it has the remnants of a tanking syatem. Group synergy is what creates roles. Composition of the group you are running with may have Volt or Ash tanking because the players have modded for it and the aforementioned tanks aren't in the squad.

  2.

A nice little affinity booster for like 30 seconds if you revive someone would be a great way to make people want to revive their team mates instead of just letting them die.

I like the idea, but I fear the exploit.

  3. To OP:

TL;DR entire conversation. Your changes seem to be geared towards Trinity not being in as high of demand or "necessary" as many think her to be. Or simply to slow gameplay. I can get behind your WoL changes, but that's where I get off this bus. Mostly because I enjoy Trinity as is, never touching "1." Your changes propose no energy restores and no way to instantly save my own self. Now, this is not a complaint, but the glimpse at a vision of your future: Dual Trins. Instead of one, you will have two in your p4tw easy mode farm groups. Your changes really would only cancel DR and (unless running with only 1 trin) promote a little restraint on power use.

Like I said, I didn't read through the entire conversation, but I'm sure there was someone who pointed a finger at enemy "difficulty." There always is. I'll flat out agree a good Trin can get your group through impossible situations. The thing of it is she's just going to stand you up, brush the dirt and blood off and point you back at the enemy. Yes she can heal everything ever, but that is her job. Could it be toned down a bit? Sure, and I really don't like to bring this up, but you are talking Gmag extinction level changes here. The only difference is trinity will just multiply to compensate.

  4. It's too late for me to give a proper science vs video game answer. Let's just agree the Rift is far from consistent with its physics due to balance needed for game mechanics. That being said, the nullifier issue is simply one of those inconsistencies.

To do your own theory testing answer this question; if you fire a Tonkor at an enemy while in the rift, does the projectile go through the enemy? How about at a wall or solid object?

  5. Have you ever equipped a Supra with blast dmg? Have you played "Wamprat shootout with Ivara's Navigator (Orgis+Void map "secret" room under the waterfall) ? Or have you gone skeet shooting with Vaubans bounce pads?

Taking a break is always an answer, but consider taking a break from taking the game seriously. A few months back one of my friends started playing so I helped open up the star chart. I busted out the dusty frames and weapons and remembered why they had dust on them. Rather than toss them back into the dark closet I messed around with mods and tried things, quite frankly, you shouldn't. In doing so I revitalized my will to play the game and got past that Grind frame mindset that will wear you out. So I recommend: do some crazy stupid stuff and see if it works.

    Or get a dog.

  6. For chroma I need 1 more rank to farm him. And by master race you guys mean it's the best? For chroma I need 1 more rank to farm him. And by master race you guys mean it's the best?

Don't worry about "best." Concern yourself with having fun. Is Loki good; undeniably. Is Loki the best frame? For some yes, others no.

Back to the having fun. MR limits your options on so-called "endgame" gear. To get your MR up to 12 (the highest MR wall I can recall) you will be using a lot of weapons and frames as fodder if all you are doing is trying to grind your way to endgame. Slow down, take your time and enjoy the ride. You will risk burning out in this game rushing to the end.

As for your concerns of being a burden to a team; don't sweat it. Everyone started from scratch and had to make it just like you will. You don't sound like you are lost in the sauce so I am going to assume you are either getting advice from vets or the Web (wiki, youtube, etc). Make small goals, achieve them and soon enough you will find yourself in Recruiting saying "H NM raid LF..."

  7. Hey, guys...So let's start by saying I've been trying to get an "omega" kubrow, and I found someone that GAVE me 2X imprints of what was for sure an "omega" kubrow (max height and bulky build) Anyway I used the 2 imprints on an egg assuming it would make a clone of the kubrow the imprints were off....

    WRONG...

O.k. so my kubrow i made from the imprints has same build and fur pattern but it's height is TINY literally half the size of the one imprints were off, So i go and do some research and check wiki only to find that its height is NOT imprinted on imprints.

O.k. so my questions are A: Why do SOME people try to sell there 'omega' imprints for hundreds of plat, when it is not garaunteed you will get an omega from the imprints?? or better yet, whos dumb enough to buy them since it's not a sure thing?

B: After all my research I found NOTHING on wiki that even says how many differen't height variations there are, Although it does mention build types. So how many height variations are there??

C: Since the kubrow I created from the imprints has the bulky body i want but isn't tall enough AND supposibly height is randomly generated when breeding, Can I just make two imprints of my kubrow, consign it, use the imprints make another one and repeat process however many times until RNG blesses me with my desired max height???

EDIT: Oh and gender had nothing to do with it, the kubrow i made was a male just like the parent.

    A. Chances are very high of getting a "copy" when using 2 imprints of the same pooch. It is all RNG in the end.

    B. I've seen from thigh high to chin high and every where in between. I am speaking of measuring as such:

    http://mygermanshepherd.org/how-to-measure-your-dogs-height-and-weight/

    C. Yes. That is all you can do at this point.

I know I will not change how everyone has classifies the max height and bulky build Kubrow, but please stop calling it "Omega." The Omega is at the bottom of the pecking order in the pack, and the community has lable it as the desirable one. Please stop.

  8. Don't hate me, but all the old frames had or are going to get a rework/rebalanced.

Loki can go invisible for stupid long duration. Able to teleport enemies and allies, also disarming group enemies and making them fight each other with argument.

I know this is bit of touchy subject, but i think should be talked about :/

So does he need to be rebalanced, or just kept OP.

EDIT: Plz Don't Be Salty. If you got suggestions and rework feel free to say it :)

Edit 2: Be respectful and don't be a jackass

Can we focus on Loki and stop bringing other frames into this. I started thread to talk about Loki only that ain't being rebalanced. I will say this again; their is no scaling on Loki's disarm, and enemies have no reaction to stealth frame.

And please, don't try to provoke other players. Can't we be nature without being so Salty? -_-

I'll be clear; no rework on Loki needed. The rework needed is to the "stealth" mechanics in game.

Now, I am forced to agree with Dr_Dac. You read my response and merely suggested I leave other frames out of the discussion without leaving any thoughts on the topic or answering my question. Add your opinion, an opinion, so we can get on. Or /thread

  9. I think some people confuse OP with usefulness.

^This. Can we all remember this is primarily a PvE game?

His invise is cheat code more then anything

So Ivara doesn't have a "cheat code?" You may be "slower" but you are still just as invisible.

The problem I see with Loki is the deminishing stealth game in Warframe. The changes that came about post Focus farming decimated a non-stealth frames ability to imitate one. So who do we use to complete those spy missions?

I still want to know how Loki ruins your day? Yeah, the trolling with switch teleport or the AFK guy I get those. I'm asking about the team player. How does that guy ruin your day?

  10. There are a lot of frames that have that "new frame smell" that makes you enjoy them initially. When the honeymoon is over they sit in your inventory and only emerge for a trip down memory lane. Personally, my "fun" frame is Banshee. You really have to stay mobile to stay alive in higher tier missions, but if you are looking for some casual fun with melee I would in fact recommend her.

I run my Banshee akin to Quiette's, but use savage silence and sonic fracture. I also make sure I mod my melee for finishers and run around cutting swaths through the baddies.

But really, Rhino would be a good call to after his rework.

    $0.02

  11. light doesnt bend, so it cant be curved to form a saber. that's why

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refraction

It was mentioned previously that light also bends on an event horizon of a black hole, thought I would add a reminder light bends all the time under more "mundane" circumstances.

As for OP asking to deflect projectiles back at the baddies, channel while blocking (use mods to make this more efficient). You may not be able to get the same sound or visual effects, but you can make the noises yourself and give your melee an obnoxiously bright energy color for similar visual effects. Having gore turned on gives that satisfying gibbing action.

TL;DR "light sabers" are in the game, you just have to believe they are.

  12. If a new system for cover mechanics was introduced a new aggro system would also have to be put in play. And really, just no. Your "cover" is crouching behind walls/objects. Your real cover is staying on the move.

TL;DR The warframe community does not want or need cover mechanics. /thread

  13. Each ship (landingcraft) has its own air drop it will provide in mission (gear you build in the foundry). Outside of that and appearance they serve no other function as of yet.

  14. I like the Saryn rework approach you took for the ability changes. I personally am ok with Banshee the way she is other than Sound Quake being a lackluster way to present your body for sacrifice and the tinfoil armor. Your changes would provide the synergy between abilities DE seems to be moving toward with new frames and other reworks, but you forgot one thing: the passive. With a frame based on sound it could be silent footsteps or weapons all the time, a "sonic boom" (heavy impact) but when you bullet jump, or improved low ends on the in-game music due to those sweet headphones (from concept art of premium skin).

  15. Reason is a railgun in a rotary cannon configuration which fires depleted uranium flechettes. It is mounted to a large, wheeled ammunition box and is equipped with a harness for user comfort, a nuclear battery pack, and a water-cooled heat exchanger. The weapon, created by Ng, was still in beta testing, and suffers a software crash during a battle. Hiro is later able to apply a firmware update, and uses it until its ammunition supply is depleted. It bears, in inscription on its nameplate, the Latin phrase Ultima Ratio Regum, "the last argument of kings".

if you haven't read snow crash... you should.

And then read The Diamond Age.

The first issue I have here is the obvious precedent of Sentients using themselves as weapons, and so far your created weapons are not used by them.

Second, as stated previously, void energy seems to be the Achilles heel of the Sentients, so wielding their energy weapon would be hard to explain away.

Thirdly, I like the ideas for the weapons out of context of them being Sentient in origin. One critique with that in mind, a spiked shield would do impact/puncture damage, not slash.

I'd like to see the concept art.

  16. It would help to see the actual colors. Take a SS in the customize screen with the natural colors. Then take another SS with the collar being colored using them as well, the use main option. That will help determine the colors better, because as I see it now, you have a common color set with some funky lighting.
