  1. I've seen the rise and fall of a lot of bad games. I've also seen the rise and fall of great games. They generally all followed the same trend: Laziness and Greed was their undoing. Warframe? It's currently in decline. I'm not talking about playerbase or yearly revenue. I'm talking about fun factor. No one else can sum up this rage as well as MCGamerCZ for me (He covers a lot of Warframe's problems in this video. Check it out, he deserves the love), so I'll simply quote an extremely accurate part of his rant:

"Seriously, what the #%$& happened to the Corpus? I can't even open a bloody door without a Nullifier jumping into my face, stripping away all of my buffs, having a Moa knock me down and having the Bursas drag me all over the stupid blue mines left by the Ospreys. When I finally get up, there's a Comba or Scrambulus unit somewhere in a corner, and when I try to find and kill them just so I can use my bloody abilities, a sniper or Tech just oneshots me. That's just not fun."

This isn't limited to the Corpus, but you get the point. Warframe in the early days was FUN to play. Sure, the players were literal gods and only level 40+ could even kill a player (With 40 being extreme endgame back in the day, seen only in long, endless missions), but it was fun and pretty relaxing. Just get home from work, kick back and slaughter some mindless baddies without any stress as your food heats up in the oven. Sounds nice, right?

What do we have today? A bunch of insanely bullet-spongey enemy types (Seriously! why is an unarmored, FURLESS Kavat tankier than a Butcher, which has actual combat armor on!?), with a massive amount of crowd control tacked onto almost every single enemy these days. Unsurprisingly, every Warframe that wants to even SEE past level 50 has to be strapped to the teeth with Corrosive Projection, Corrosive and Frost/Fire Mods, and either a stupidly CC heavy frame (Banshee, Vauban, Nyx), a stupidly tanky warframe (Valkyr, Rhino or Nezha) OR something that stays invisible for the ENTIRE mission (Ash, Loki or THE MON). Most weapons are utter GARBAGE. Out of 300+ weapons. I need to say that again, OUT OF 300 WEAPONS, only 35-45 or so are viable. That's less than 20%.

Problem is? We have a simple fix. We've had it since the game came out. Rebalancing the numbers. DE does it for Conclave in EVERY SINGLE PATCH. I don't even care about scaling anymore. Why has Banshee been stuck with 15 armor for over a YEAR when it's a known issue holding the frame back? Armor is insanely important. You can FEEL how much of a change it makes going from Valkyr to Banshee. A single shot from a 90 Grineer Lancer can drop a Banshee, and yet barely do 50 damage to Valkyr. It makes no sense to not have armor at a flat value to make balancing around it easier. Guns? The easiest fix in the world. Just tweak crit chance, status chance and base damage. Not a single player in the game would be upset if Tiberon suddenly had 25% more crit chance. Not a SINGLE player. Imagine if the Gorgon did more base damage and was more ammo efficient! Imagine if the Flux Rifle had a high base crit chance! There is LITERALLY a pile of weapons that are amazingly fun to use, but have terrible stats. Numbers are easy to fix, DE. Making fun weapons isn't. Why reinvent the wheel when you have weapons players love. Riven mods aren't even a bandaid. It's Laziness.

Well, there's my rant at a bunch of developers who created a fantastic game and chose to make it frustrating INSTEAD of tweaking a few number values. Annoyance and difficulty are not the SAME THING. Who here would trade Soma prime to never see a Nullifier ever again?

  2. Warframe is basically Borderlands with some new mechanics and a fresh coat of paint. We have tons of guns, with most of them being worthless, and a grab-bag of wonky powers that you use rarely unless you want to cheese with them. But Borderlands has one thing that made super strong enemies bearable to fight that Warframe seems to have ignored in their scramble to mimic the game: Rally System. You could revive your allies, or they could revive themselves by killing enemies in their downed state and come back with the most minimal amounts of health, making another down likely, but it also made going down feel less punishing. Bosses were fun to fight in Borderlands because, even if the boss obliterated you, you could just revive yourself off the trash mobs in the room. Death was ultimately just as meaningless as it is in Warframe, but dying felt like a struggle to survive, and not 20 seconds of boredom waiting for your character to drop so you can hit the revive button. And on that note, Warframe should probably add the ability to "Give Up" in the downed state so you can revive faster, especially if you know your allies won't/can't save you because you were killed in a toxic moshpit.

Warframe needs a system like this, especially if they refuse to remove the recent slew of enemies that just obliterate warframes. We're supposed to be super powerful and feared wardens of the solar system, only matched by the most inhuman of enemies (Bosses)... And yet every Bursa, Nullifier, Corpus Tech and Bombard past level 50 literally oneshot us with no chance to retaliate. Even newer enemies are completely immune to damage unless we awkwardly use our operators in the middle of a mosh pit of other enemies just to make them vulnerable.

On a final note: Features in video games exist to make the game more enjoyable or challenging. Warframe has done a lot of good stuff that Borderlands never did. Take all the Ui and HUD changes over the years. All of these are nice... But they don't really help me enjoy the gameplay. Scaling in Warframe is far too broken compared to Borderlands. Getting obliterated with no chance to avoid/stop the damage isn't fun in any game. I would like to make a request and ask that you remove some of your focus from adding frills to Warframe, and instead focus on rebalancing the scaling system. It has gotten a little nuts. The period of time where the Warframes and the Enemies feel relative balanced with one another is such a short period of time. It comes and goes in literally one defense mission wave... But that wave is where I, as a player, have the most fun.

I don't care if they change Sound Quake but I'm not willing to accept the risk of them touching her other abilities. Like I said, she has 3 consistently good abilities and that's far more than most frames can claim. Volt is the only rework they've done who debatably has 4 good abilities, that's 1 in 7 over the past year? Not great betting odds.

Because Saryn's wasn't good? Ash's isn't good? Rhino's sure was terrible, making Roar better and applying to total damage rather than base damage. Horrible, I agree. Frost's made every single ability good, but let's ignore that. Ember's rework made her vastly more viable and all 4 abilities are used. Must have been a fluke. Valkyr's rework make her ultimate VASTLY more usable and fixed numerous issues with her other abilities. But nobody plays Valkyr, so who cares, right? *Cough* The ONLY rework you can claim was bad is Mag, and even that rework left her better than before. Every single other rework either vastly improved the frame or fixed a glaring problem. Please don't distort reality to fit your viewpoint.

Banshee is the most inactive frame in Warframe unless you strip all duration from her and spam Silence like a drug addict for repeated ministuns. Banshee, as a base frame, is the most boring frame in the game in terms of APM (Actions per Minute). Ignoring that, the only positive thing she brings is CC, which as you CLEARLY stated, any frame can do now, especially after all the reworks making older frames stronger. Banshee does one thing: Sonar. That is all she has to be unique, and given how powerful players have become... Nobody needs it. My Rubicor can crit for over 50k by itself. Anything over that is excessive and not worth my time lining up a shot on a grineer lancer's foot.

  4. 48 minutes ago, Xzorn said:

You're saying Banshee needs a rework but I think what you mean is they need to nerf the scrub Sound Quake augment because that's really the only ability in question here. The rest of her abilities are good and I'd rather less people play her. Most players don't even understand why Silence is so strong.

First, this is half of the problem when fighting for a change in something. People enjoy the feeling of exclusivity of playing something nobody else does, so they don't want it to change and have it become popular.

Second... You can't just IGNORE part of a warframe and call it "Scrub Sound Quake" and pretend only bad players use it. I remember back during Vay Hek's raid. We have a Banshee just Spam energy gears and just max duration and energy efficiency and ultimate the map. Nothing but the boss could move. It trivialized each part until we reached the boss. You can't tell me that's okay.

Even if you HATE it, call it a "Ability only losers use" ... WELL, MAYBE WE SHOULD REPLACE IT?! If you hate it, don't use it and insult people who do, why not rework her ultimate into something else?

  5. Also, as an addendum to that... You can argue: "Just don't use her ultimate, then!"

Warframe is a game ABOUT superpowered suits of armor in space with magical abilities. The guns always will be secondary to the warframes. If you ever tell someone to just ignore part of a warframe and pretend it isn't a problem... You're telling them to go play HALO.

  6. I think my main point was somewhat missed. Banshee doesn't need a rework because of numbers. Banshee doesn't need a rework because she's squishy.

The problem with Banshee is the same problems being slowly fixed in other warframes: Inactivity in gameplay. ALL of her abilities are huge radial abilities that hit everything and should basically be used whenever they are up. Silence is the most offensive in this regard. It's an AoE stunfield that follows you around and requires NO input from the player. Anything you use just because it's not already being used isn't good design.

The worst thing about Banshee I have tangeled with in my immense amount of time on her is her ultimate. It feels wrong on her. I could go into the 500+ different ways I would want it reworked... But the flat out truth remains:

+It's not healthy for gameplay. Everytime I drag my Banshee into a defense or survival with randoms and I drop my 250% range ult and clear everything before it spawns... The other players tend to just drift toward me and afk... PROBABLY all thinking the same thing: "Why bother playing the game when a singe frame can do the work of 4 other frames at the same time?" THIS was the reason Nova's Molecular prime got nerfed, but Banshee's Sound Quake gets a pass?!

+It's not interactive and it has NO input from the player. Mesa's ult gets nerfed for being an aimbot that oneshots everything and trivializes gameplay... But Sound Quake can do this THROUGH walls, hit for 2k+ every second and do it at DOUBLE Mesa's old range. I don't understand it.

TL;DR: I love Banshee's 1-3. Even if they need some changes. Her ultimate is boredom incarnate and just ruins the game. When I can solo a Sortie of 140 corrupted grineer enemies in a defense mission WITH the squishiest frame IN THE GAME by doing nothing but BREWING TEA while my frame loudly murders everything by itself... You have a problem. I'm not even using guns anymore in Sorties. I just AFK.

  7. I guess Banshee is just being ignored at this point? Why has Banshee been left in this terrible, inactive state? Let's compare the reason Banshee should PROBABLY get a rework to the reasons other frames got them:

Frost: Reworked because his bubbles were literally: Drop an invulnerable sphere and never use the same button again. Now they have a lifebar and need to be replaced. Rest of his kit was powered up to make him picked for more than just his bubbles. Reason: [Too Easy]

Ember: Reworked because she lacked any utility, survivability and her damage was horrible on anything but infested. Reason: [Viability Issues]

Mag: Reworked to be useful with things other than Max Crush, which fell off fast. Got reworked again because she trivialized Corpus. Reason(s): [Viability Issues][Too Easy]

Nova: Reworked because Molecular Prime was too powerful and trivialized the game. Now has travel time, max distance and duration. Reason: [Too Easy]

Mesa: Reworked because you could literally keybind and macro her Peacemaker to solo missions and make Draco even easier than it was. Now you have to aim it. Reason: [Too Easy]

Ash: Reworked because Bladestorm was too powerful and trivialized most mission types. You would often see 2-3 per sortie mission. Reason: [Too Easy]

This isn't a complete list, but you get the general trend. Frames tend to get a rework when they fall severely off the map, they get picked for one ability or they could break the game in glaringly obvious ways. So why has Banshee been ignored for so long? Let's examine why she breaks all 3 of those issues:

Viability: Like old Ember, she lacks any real burst damage. Unlike current Ember, Sound Quake is inferior to World on Fire in all but the CC department on all targets. Fire is better than Blast.

Too Easy: Banshee can break the game just as bad as any other frame prenerf, if not worse, when built correctly. She can damage and stunlock an entire map, several rooms over. Her range, especially with the right mods, can get close to a staggering 200 meters. In addition, when built for Sonar, she can cause players to hit in the MILLIONS of damage with a single shot.

Too Inactive: All of Banshee's skills are use and forget kind of abilities. None are worse than Sound Quake in this regard, though. Similar to Mesa's Peacemaker, you simply drop it and walk away from your computer for extended periods of time. Built correctly, this time period can be up to 5 minutes at once with only 10-15 seconds of downtime.

By all regards, Banshee is a far more egregious offender than Nova ever was. The only thing stopping Banshee is a Nullifier (But those stop ALL warframes, so that is hardly unique). She breaks every rule and clearly causes problems for overall game health when abused in the right ways. The only conclusion I can draw is this: Banshee has not received a rework because not enough people play her.

If any of you are still here after reading my wall of text... What thoughts do you have for changes? Make her ultimate a single pulse with a huge knockback/ragdoll effect?

  8. So let me get this straight:

    •   DE created an event that is a PvE version of the PvP Conclave mode (The Same PvP mode that a LOT of players hate).

    • The only painless way to do this event is to abuse EV Trinity so you can actually use your abilities (In a game where the entire point of playing is to be a super space ninja using awesome powers. But, sure, take those away. And let's be honest, EV Trinity will be patched out. I give it a day at best~).

    • The Boss requires 10 Tier 3 runs to UNLOCK, and 5 Tier 3 runs per boss ATTEMPT (Meaning, you guessed it, RNG makes this entire event a needless, painful grindfest).

    • The Rewards are pathetic at best. The Furax Wraith has the exact same base damage stats and gets such a slight change I can't help but feel DE doesn't care that it's never going to be used. The reward with the syndicate is, who could have guessed it, reputation!? Great. I'll slap that on top of my 4 maxed factions (REALLY!?).

    • The mods are all for terrible weapons that need upgrades. So, DE's solution? Have mods that bring them up to snuff by placing the mods behind a grind wall that would make an Everquest player quit the game.

Like, DE. You're driving your casual players away with these events. They're NOT fun. You're asking players with minimal time in their days to donate their lives to get a few mandatory mods that help fix some of the power creep you YOURSELF should be balancing for! You take years to fix simple scaling problems that cause hardcore players to rage and quit your game!

I used to love Warframe. I spent hours playing it. Now enemies strip me of my powers, weapons and energy. Their AI is still laughable and terrible. Glitches are everywhere. You patch and fix guns for Conclave, but ignore them in THE ENTIRE FOCUS OF YOUR GAME: PvE CONTENT!

I've never seen such a cool idea get stepped all over and ignored before. What happened to being super space ninjas? What happened to HAVING FUN!?

  9. I get it, DE. I really do. You wanted to try and create a jack-of-all-trades frame that was good at everything, but amazing at nothing. Problem is? Banshee isn't that. Not only can Banshee trivialize every basic mission type (Excluding Archwing and Bosses), her entire kit just SUCKS the fun out of the game for the rest of her team, regardless of build. Banshee's either stunlocking the ENTIRE MAP with Sonic Boom, Silence and Sound Quake, or she's making you and your friends hit enemies for multiple of MILLIONS, making builds and strategic use of mods MEANINGLESS. A fair amount of warframe abilities benefit from Sonar, making her a potent ally to have with certain frames. I love seeing damage numbers in the hundreds of thousands everytime I press a SINGLE BUTTON.

This all sounds fine on paper. Problem? Why bother playing when you have a Banshee. The enemy AI is already subpar at best. They run in circles, dash out of cover to melee you for trivial damage compared to their guns and glitch through walls and floors on the rare occasion they decide to ignore physics. Tack on PERMA STUNLOCKING from a Banshee and you take Warframe and turn it into a high definition version of DUCK HUNT.

And lastly: Banshee is worthless in Assassination missions. Sonar doesn't affect bosses. They are now immune to all of her stagger effects. Bringing a MAG to a Grineer Assassination mission will be MORE HELPFUL TO YOUR TEAM than bringing a Banshee.

    So let's recap:

    1) Banshee takes an already simple game without too many mechanics to worry about and makes it obscenely boring to play by removing what little challenge existed in the first place. She excels at nothing but making the game so easy for your friends they actually ASK YOU TO: "STOP PLAYING BANSHEE SO WE CAN HAVE SOME FUN."

    2) She's completely worthless in every up-to-date boss fight.

    3) She can solo a 4-man Interception/Defense Mission while the other players tab out and do other things. She can do this for SORTIES! You know, ENDGAME CONTENT.

But, yeah. Let's rework Mag, Frost and Saryn. Nobody plays Banshee, so why bother reworking her so people use her or have fun with it. Banshee is the warframe's Hind. Nobody cares about. Nobody likes it. And DE will never pay any attention to it, even if a few players love it.

  10. With DE slowly reworking old game modes, I thought I would throw in my two cents on Survival:

Since the introduction of Arcwing and the recent lore changes, Survival makes the least sense out of any game mode now. The warframes clearly don't require air to survive, as they can go underwater, into the vacuum of space and other crazy places. The enemies aren't affected, either.

So, with the introduction of the Sorties, I got an idea: To go along with the idea of SURVIVAL, the player would be thrust into a mission that has no life support to worry about, but INSTEAD, they can only die ONCE. The explanation for this can be simple: An space storm of some sort (Ion, etc) is interfering with the transference signal. If you die, the signal would become too weak to maintain and the player would lose the mission.

    The obvious problems would be:

    A) Camping in a spot the units can't reach you.

    B) Using frames like Loki, Ash, Hydroid, Limbo and Ivara to completely avoid fighting and just wait for the rewards.

So, as a slight fix to this, I propose another slight fix for this: Nightmare Vampire Mode. To further fit in line with the idea of survival, the player's health will slowly drain. Killing units will restore health.

Again, these are just my own thoughts on this, and there are still many loopholes to be exploited with this, but I just wanted to throw out my own ideas for a rework.

  11. This isn't a rant. This isn't me complaining. This is merely a list of things missing from Warframe that really hold it back and ruin the experience for the majority of new and existing players:

    1) A substantial, cohesive tutorial. This has been harped on repeatedly and the Devs have ignored it so far. This should be their primary focus and for a very simple reason: Players are extremely lost and confused when they first try this game out. In a somewhat infamous case, TotalBiscuit's wife, Genna, got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information she SHOULD KNOW but wasn't told about or informed of by the game. She didn't even know about Mods. So what did she do? She quit.

Warframe, when you know EXACTLY what to do, how to unlock systems and where to farm? Exactly what a lot of people want: A commitment-less game where you can slowly work yourself towards a goal without spending any money.

    2) Power Creeping. A lot of gamers know this term, and some don't, so let me explain: Power Creep is where the newer content is slightly better than the older content. It doesn't have to be a huge change in power, but over time, with more and more updates, old weapons become pointless.

DE has shown us they can quickly and easily update old weapons... FOR CONCLAVE. There is a constant attention to detail and rebalancing of weapons... IN CONCLAVE. Why is the Hind still worthless? Does anyone even remember what the Dark Dagger/Sword look like? Countless weapons fall victim to this power creep and are completely neglected in the core game experience. Boltor Prime is an infamous of example of how strong weapons can get, rendering all other weapons almost pointless. The risk and reward aren't balanced, resulting in a skewed choice of optimal weapons. Simple Example: A fully modded Hind does BARELY more damage than an unmodded Boltor Prime.

    3) Lore Issues. This doesn't matter for everyone, but for some it does. A lot. With each new update, DE spoon feeds the playerbase their storyline and their vision for the game. Problem is, that vision has changed A LOT.

Anyone else remember when the Lotus was an organization helping the Tenno, not a single person? Or when Captain Vor was relevant? All of this changed with time, but the bosses didn't. They still shout references back to a MUCH older time. Some of them are completely unchanged from when the game was originally created!

    4) Why? What am I doing in an interception mission? Why am I killing hundreds of cloned soldiers? What is the object I'm protecting in the defense mission? What important information does the capture target have?

The Stalker and MANY other enemy bosses make constant references to the Tenno as Mindless Drones. Given what we know about the missions we do? I can't help but agree. We are told nothing. In a game based entirely around grinding and slamming yourself into every brick wall you come across, it tends to be a decent idea to give the player a motive, however shallow. And no, "Keeping the Galactic Peace" isn't a reason. It's an excuse to not have a reason.

  12. Conclave is already a mess of imbalance and horrible warframe ability abuse, but Nezha has completely ruined this for me recently. Strap on a Sonicor and Slap on your Iron Skin 2.0s, kids, I'm about to teach you how to break the game and ruin it for other players:

Run until you get energy. Turn on Iron Skin 2.0. Knock Someone down with Sonicor and stand on top of them until they die from your infinite staggers and small damage. Or use a melee and effortlessly kill them while they are completely unable to fight back.

I just went 30/2 in a recent FFA. This combo is so gamebreaking I had to test it for myself and, honestly, why the HELL did Nezha's stagger on his shield make it into conclave?! Banshee's ult didn't keep hers, and the damage is laughable already. If this doesn't get changed soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see everyone abusing it.

Good Job, DE. Amazing Foresight. A/5.

  13. I'm sure the majority of players have done a Sortie at one point or another. So I'm just going to casually drop this combination and I know what the reactions are going to be:

"Grineer and Elemental Resistance/High Level Corpus and Elemental Resistance."

Doing any of these missions is absolutely a joke and a waste of time in most cases. A 15 wave Defense mission took over an hour because the enemies were so AMAZINGLY difficult to kill. It REALLY says something when a correctly forma'd Lex Prime crits a Grineer Heavy Gunner for less than 300 damage. On a headshot. Or when an IMPACT BOW, Rakta Cernos, takes 10 shots to kill a corpus moa.

It has ALWAYS bothered me, but enemies around 40+ become bullet sponges without any increase in difficulty and a very small increase to damage they do. For the most part, a level 50 will hit roughly as hard as an 80. The enemies, unlike Legendary mode on any Halo game, or harder difficulties on other shooter titles, DO NOT GET ANY BETTER. If anything, the laughable AI is forcing DE to create bullet sponges with unfair advantages and effects like Nullifiers, the recent Scramblers, or Eximus types.

I recently got a few friends into Warframe for their first time. Their reaction to higher level enemies and boss fights were about expected:

"Why do they take so little damage?! This is $&*&*#(%&!"

"So I have to wait until the boss becomes vulnerable to damage him? What the hell. Why can't I have that kind of armor!?"

"It takes 4 clips to kill this same enemy that takes 2 bullets only 20 levels ago? Screw this S#&$."

I can't even imagine how many casual players just refuse to do Sorties because of the sheer time sink half of them demand. I have yet to see a Sortie with a fun or even interesting mechanic like Nightmare Vampire mode, or Extremely Low Gravity mode, like in Nightmare missions. It's just DE abusing armor values and damage reduction to make the missions longer. That's not any fun.

  14. By SCRIPTING, I mean the WORDS THAT SHE READS, aka, her SCRIPT. She's not emotionless, and yet she speaks almost entirely in monotone. She isn't interesting. The few times we get Darvo as a Guide instead of Lotus I get EXCITED. His word choice and manner of speaking make the game more fun. He isn't just spewing necessary information in our face, he's telling us what we need to know while making it either funny or somewhat interesting.

Up until the Natah quest, she was basically just our unseen guide. It makes perfect sense that she only began getting more story and lore very recently. I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the future, outside of her role as a guide.

I hope we honestly don't have to... Her character is bland. The Stalker is more interesting! THE STALKER!

Lotus in a nutshell: Exposition with boobs told to you in monotone.

  15. I honestly don't need to say very much. The title speaks for itself. When put next to characters like Tyl Regor and Alad V, Lotus has horribly scripted dialogue and poorly designed motives. She's all over the map and has the most continuity errors of anything in this game.

What I'm trying to say is this: This game has a lot of colorful, well scripted characters who stand out. Lotus, by comparison, the character we interact with constantly, is so poorly written and scripted that it really drags down the experience for me. DEReb did a fine job VOICING her, but the lines she has are horrible.

  16. Let's have more mods that we need to put cores and credits into and more weapons which aren't affected by aura mods. That's a good idea.

There's no such thing as an EMP launcher, if you're trying to have an EMP launcher type. There's no such thing as an anti-tank launcher that punctures the target. Do you mean anti-tank rifle? Because that's the vectis. If you want something that shoots shrapnel, it's called the Drakgoon. Chaingun? Gorgon. A gun that requires you to hold still in a game all about high mobility... Yeah that's totally not a bad idea at all. Totally.

Also, if you genuinely believe that nothing is better than Boltor Prime, maybe you should use weapons besides Boltor Prime.

Lords, try to be creative and suddenly realism has to be incorporated into a video game. Are you REALLY going to stick your head in the sand and argue about the POTENTIAL for something to exist? You're okay with infested weapons, enemies dropping ammo that magically matches your gun that ONLY TENNO POSSESS and Warframe powers, but not a wacky weapon like a Rocket Launcher that fires EMP bombs on a small scale?

And, actually, we DO have something that lobs around EMPs (Sort of?): Ancients, Grineer Doors and Magnetic Weapons. We already have the status type and I can slap that onto a Penta and have an EMP Lobber of my own. It's not that IT CAN'T EXIST, it's that DE hasn't MADE it yet. This is the super future where lasers and space ships exist.

Let me ask you THIS: Would a weapon that freezes you in place/slows you down but has a higher rate of damage to compensate for it REALLY sound that unbelievable? Do you plan to fire it the ENTIRE ROUND? Have you tried using a Grineer Rampart before, sir? If your answer is no, get out there and try it. Lots of fun.

My point is simple: Why do we have 16 versions of a MACHINE GUN, but only one Bazooka? Seems like something is weird, there...

  17. We have launcher type weapons, such as the orgris (which could be called a rocket launcher).

Two (Three if you count Opticor?): Ogris and Torid. Technically Torid is just an infested version of the Ogris, so that makes it just a varient. Not only are they classified as Rifles, they are visually the same as rifles in both the way they are carried and fired.

Even if they don't make a classification for specific weapon types like Launchers or Heavy Guns, we still have a WOEFULLY small amount of these compared to other types. Machine Guns alone have a STAGGERING 16+ versions of basically the exact same thing but with minor varients to each gun. The Braton is the baseline, the Boltor is Puncture focused, etc.

Where are my EMP Launchers? My Anti-Tank (Puncture) Launchers? What about a Grenade launcher that lobs shrapnel at enemies? What about an Anti-Infantry Chaingun? A gun that can only be fired while standing in place due to the sheer kickback from the gun?

Sure, not ALL of these guns are amazingly practical, but they would be fun to pull out and use for defense missions, etc. Let's be honest here, if you're looking for the best guns, Everything but Boltor Prime and Scindo Prime are worthless. Since DE clearly won't ever nerf them, can we at least get some new toys for when we aren't abusing game-breaking weapons?

  18. I don't know if this is just me, but I love occasionally pulling out a massive gun and just mowing down enemies. There's just something so satisfying about picking up a mobile lawnmower and being a slow moving god that rains destruction down on their enemies.

Warframe? We lack ANY weapons even close to this. Gorgon and Supra are the only "Heavy Machine Guns" we have, but they look really lackluster and are around the same size as the Boltor and Braton.

Let's all be honest, we gave up being space ninjas a long time ago, and the newest lore just reinforced that. Would it be asking a little too much to have a somewhat generic Gatling Gun or Rocket Launcher in Warframe? Both of these two gun areas have BARELY any guns in them, and could easily become their own category, much like Shotguns and Bows.

  19. I'm very happy with what I was able to make with the somewhat limited engine we have to customize our Operator with. However, like some, the only part I was unsatisfied with was the voice options. Having only two per gender is fine for the LAUNCH of this system, but I do hope we get more with time. In addition, having some of the following options would be AMAZING:

1 - The ability to control the frequency and rate at which our Operators communicate with us. I'm fine with it where it is, personally, but I can also see the value of having a slider for this option. Some want to have the Operator talk more, some want them to talk less.

2 - More cosmetics for the Operator. This goes in line with the Voices, and it already looks like DE plans to add more content in this area, but I might as well throw this out there as well.

4 - While I'm at it, for the love of god, can we get different options for AIs for Ordis? A fair number of us REALLY dislike Ordis. Having the ability to find and buy an AI that suits our playstyle and tastes would be AMAZING. I'd be willing to shell out 499 platinum per AI voicetype.

    Anyone have any better ideas?

  20. As I stated in an earlier post, I'm a little sad we don't have the option to defect from Lotus. I, personally, hate the ugly wench and want to kill her several times over. But that's just my opinion.

So, for this new mission type, have Lotus charge us with hunting down a Warframe that's gone rogue. It could be VERY similar to a boss battle, but it could also be structured like a Capture. The Warframe will fight until they reach 50% health and then start running from the player. If they escape, the mission fails.

Again, these are just my thoughts. BUT, i find it ludicrous that not a SINGLE Warframe is unhappy with the Lotus. ONE of them has to be unhappy with the ugly wench. I'll be the first to Defect. Who else wants to shoot her in the face?

  21. Warframe, like other games before it, is a good game. But, like so many games that come before it, Warframe is also stuck in a weird spot due to it's weird and flimsy lore. With the lack of a real backstory, DE is left to do whatever they want with Warframe and it becomes cannon simply because there's nothing to refute it. But that's fine.

What I'm somewhat mystified and upset by is the lack of creativity with Warframes and their unexplained loyalty to Lotus. We're never given an option. We're never presented with an enemy that seriously tries to get us to defect. We're never presented with an alternative to Lotus. And THAT is something I would love to see. It doesn't have to be a rival faction. It doesn't even have to be one of the syndicates. But having that nice touch of choice would be LOVELY.

Here's an example: During a mission with the Grineer/Corpus, you get captured. Similar to the Harvester Event. You get presented with an option to go rogue. If you choose no, you fight your way out. If you choose yes, you defect and join that faction.

There wouldn't even have to be that much work for a new faction. Replace Lotus with Alad V/Nef/Whoever. Mission Nodes largely remain the same, but your OBJECTIVES in these nodes are different. Aka, if you joined Corpus, you'll still be killing Grineer and blowing up their ships. The only real change would be the REASON you're doing it. Hell, Corpus barely get along with themselves, so having you "Eliminate Some Competition" would be a valid reason for fighting other Corpus.

All of this is obviously pure wishful thinking, but I would love to hear what the community has to say about this crazy idea of mine. I just want to beat the S#&$ out of Alad V with Nef laughing in the background. And mocking the Karak Wraith, if possible. Piece of SHI-!

  22.

I'll repeat myself - there is nothing wrong with skills that are more effective in solo play. That is kinda the whole point of Silence anyway. I could see Sonar/Silence getting switched - since the cheaper cast on the clearly more powerful ability doesn't make sense.

But that IS A PROBLEM. Warframe was NEVER INTENDED to be a solo experience. Even the tutorial is made for multiple players! Having a frame with an ability that's major use is solo play is inane logic! Just because you CAN do something, doesn't make it okay or even interesting. If we're talking about viable solo play, Loki and Ash CRUSH Banshee when it comes to stealth missions, in damage, survivability AND utility. Silence NEEDS to die.

Since you love the stun so much, let's do THIS: The radial stun that is currently part of Silence will be a part of Sonar, which needs a slight rework as is. Sonar should be constant detection based on your current position. Pinging an enemy once doesn't mean you'll know where they are 5 minutes from now. This will also reduce the number of X-mas trees running around.

Again - you are arguing a change based on the fact that people tend/choose to be ignorant - this is not a reason to change what is one of the most all-round effective frames in the game.

But this DOES MATTER! This is a TEAM BASED GAME! Interception ALONE proves this. Having Sonar ONLY help those that understand how it works makes no sense. You don't have to under how Vauban's Vortex works to shoot the enemies inside of it. You don't have to understand what Nova's Molecular Prime does to understand that the enemies die faster!

That is not a problem with the ability - that is a problem with how you choose to use the ability. If you make the decision to just perma-stun the map for your teammates - that's on you. If you find that tactic boring - don't do it - simple as that. Save it for those moments when a wide stunlock is absolutely necessary.

That's like saying this: "You enjoy playing Vauban, but find Vortex boring? JUST DON'T USE IT!" That logic is backward and prevent progressive improvements to a game. The majority of this forum alone agrees that the ability needs to be changed. Even players that disagreed with EVERYTHING ELSE I SAID agree with the thought that Sound Quake could use a retooling. Warframe is a fast paced shooter that lets the player take control of a super-futuristic body armor that grants them awesome and fantastical abilities. The ultimates of those warframes are the epitome of what their frame is! Vauban uses his technology to OPEN A BLACK HOLE! Ember causes the very air around her to EXPLODE! Frost FREEZES everything around him, turning them into ice pops! Nova messes with the very molecules that make up your BODY to cause them to EXPLODE! Mag reverses the gravity of the world around her, then crushes any victims she catches with the POWER OF GRAVITY! Banshee? She sits on the ground and turns on her fog machine. Like... It's not even COMPARABLE as an ultimate ability! For the sake of reviving a teammate, Silence or Sonic boom is usually enough. Sound Quake is LITERALLY an AFK button. At least Mesa has something to DO while she presses 4...

Warframe is a game where new weapons, warframes and ideas are constantly being added, old bugs are being fixed, and more recently, older frames are getting a fresh tone of paint. If you don't agree, good! OFFER UP A NEW OR BETTER IDEA. Don't waste time by simply stating "Lol, that's dumb." or "Here are the 500 ways I think you're wrong. Read them." You would rather blame the players and call them bad than even pause to think: "Maybe this person has an idea of what he/she is talking about, and is just looking for a new creative twist on the thing they enjoy."
