I guess I read Squad-Link as people on your friends list or people you've referred. Like something similar to Multiboxing WoW/EQ/MMOs where people create multiple accounts to reap benefits that required a squad/team. ie: trying to cheat the system to get rewards.

Yeah, as said, problem with that would be that it SEEMS that she ships crew cant sit idly by and wait for the ground team to fullfill their objective, they still have to defend themself while waiting.
And it would recquire the squadlink events to be something that happens every 1-5 missions with a reliable certainty to be exploitable.

That said, I understand what you mean, if it would be exploitable or not would depend on those factors and also if they make it dependend on the friendlist at all.
It seems to be a lot of work to exploit something that could be gathered by farming and would just shave some time off what is normally spend farming.

I was more saying that it's a lot more likely that instead of 3 guys showing up and trying to kill us and we get 50 night wave standing we would get one of these squad link objectives and then you get night wave standing

Ah, hmm I dont see that working out. That would only work if they add PoE/Orb Vallis related items to the nightwave creds and overhaul the entire system and make all the nightwave rewards purchaseable with nightwave credits. Otherwise you would get plenty of items you are not farming for in the Nightwave Levels 1-30.
People usually (unless its a weekly objective) dont go to PoE/OV to farm nightwave standing but to farm something that the Plains/Vallis provides regularly. So that should be whats in the reward pool for the squad link, and with a choice on what to get, not randomly.

This would be abused heavily by people with multiple accounts. Then those who don't abuse will end up getting in trouble for having multiple accounts.

    How so?
From what could be seen so far, even when a ground team gets contacted (AND assuming Squad Link Events happen in predictable and regular manner at all that they can be "abused" in any way) the ship crew cant sit idly by while the ground team does their work.
    Or have I overlooked something?

As much as a token system would help... well anything in WF, DE seem firmly against such a system (for some reason), despite token systems being incredibly versatile and included in nearly every single MMO in the world.

Overall I don't think the Squad Link thing is going to kick off. As you say it'll take some pretty damn amazing rewards to get people to use it, and afaik, it requires you to have the person you're linking to on your friends list or in your clan, which can severely limit it's uses.

Well there are already token systems around. Nightwave, the "Dog Days" Summer Special this Year. Or let it be Standing with the Rail agents that can be exchanged for those packages. No matter what its called really, idea is basically the same.

So... You mean something like night wave credits? Hopefully with purchase options for things like universal medallions, rare resources/boosters, maybe even weapon and Warframe BPs?

    Yes, something like Nightwave Creds.
Eligible rewards would, from my PoV, be most things you could theoretical farm on the PoE or in the Orb Vallis, including Standing. The harder/longer it takes to get them normally the more they should cost in terms of credits.
Plus maybe some decorative items, like rail agent recruiting posters, ship models etc.
I dont have any illusion in that it would be/could be perfectly balanced right away. It would like have to be carefully nudged again and again until a reward balance is found that gets people practicipating.

  6. Recently I saw a video on youtube (i think it was by Brozine) where an interesting point was made in regards of rewards for the "helping out" part in the Squad Link feature planned.
It summed up to that people usually dont chill out on the plains or the vallis but are there for a specific reason, to farm/fish/hunt certain resources, standing or whatever.

So it would take a strong incentive for people to interrupt it to help someone out, or even considering it.

Mulling things about, I wondered if a token system would do the trick. Which would allow players to exchange the tokens for a reward package of their choice, so they could supplement whatever they were farming for with said package. It could be fairly generic, a bunch of various minerals/gems/fish ... or specific as in a number of certain kinds of fish or gem...or even right away standing.

Lore wise it might be sort of rail agent outposts/stations were the tokens can be exchanged. As they seem to be the ones doing trading/supply runs it would reasonable for them to have a large asortments of wares and pull to "put in a good word" (read increase the standing with factions).

    UPCOMING CHANGES OF NOTE:

Hildryn's Main Blueprint is being moved from Vox Solaris' Offering Rank of Shadow (Rank 5) to Agent (Rank 2).

This is coming in a near Hotfx - thank you for your feedback!

Wow, didnt expect that to happen, especially so quick, thank you!

  8. Exactly the same problem here, tried placing it all over the ship, it seems a bit dependent on camera and/or head position? As it switched back to normal before back to glitched again when I replaced it and moved the camera.

  9. Can confirm this also. Guns are on target, tracers go into unit and I think I even hear the impact report (and also did damage just a split before)...but the target moves toward me unfazed. Switching to another, non hitscan weapon seems to kill them without a problem. Also some units just seem to freeze, doing nothing.

Most of us aren't exactly experts in Eastern philosophy.

You dont need to be an expert, I looked it up in about 10-15 Minutes. What prompted me to look it up was that some previous choices already seemed strange for a "good" character. I actually paid the black/white indicator no heed, deciding on what I "felt" was right ending up with an almost balanced scale in previous choices.

And I think thats what they were up to, that choices are made intuitively.

    1 hour ago, marelooke said:

We get a single word on the first "choice" so the logical thing to do is to select the choice which we know from the past aligns with how we'd react.

It can of course be subjectively but I somehow dont feel that the word "Wrath" can in any way be interpreted as a "good"/peacefull dialogue choice, especially when one of the other is "acceptance". The point is apparently that people didnt let their own morality decide but what outcome they wanted on the fire/water display.

I can hardly find fault on DEs side there, save that first choice in War Within. The one thing I would have made differently though is that I would have hidden the indicator, keeping the yin/yang balance a secret, but only because I recently saw a few vids recently that went deeply into the problem on "morality" choices in videogames and how it leads more toward either "virtue signaling" or paying more attention to the possible outcomes and their effect on the games mechanics/story than actually "feeling" the choice.

Except they turned things around on us.

From what I remember of the past choices , no, they didnt actually (as far as I could retrace it).
The only choice that they have messed up I could find is the very first one in the war within. All the other white choices I have seen so far have clear Yang Vibes, citing from the choices of the War Within (except for the first one, as said they messed white black up there, but that was the only time)
War Within, White Choices, keywords bolded by me:
    [Sun] I HATED it
[Sun] Let her rot  (condeming her to a slow death instead of a quick mercifull one)
    [Sun] DESTROY
Coming to think of it, it even illustrates the road to damnation nicely, where stepping only in one direction leads to extremism and that is never good, no matter the direction. Like: "yeah I am the good guy, I fight evil, I hate it"  "Ill take that girls decision away from her, because I know whats best for her and saving a life is good after all." (Glast Gambit) "I let that evil Queen rot, she deserves no mercy, she is evil after all..." wait, how did we end up with the pyres, burning heretics again?

But beside that, if I remember correctly it was said on a Dev Stream IF and WHEN they decide to actually give any solid meaning (gameplay wise) behind your Sun/Moon Balance they would reset it and allow you to make all the choices again (or something along that lines, in essence that you are not stuck with an outcome you didnt want).

  11. 1 hour ago, Trekiros said:

You've even changed around the meanings of the sun side and the moon side this time around. It used to mean sun = peaceful kind of tenno, who wants to de-escalate the situation, moon = screw it I'll burn everything because I'm edgy and emo. But now the sun side is "wrath" and the moon side is depressed? Is this supposed to show character progression? Character progression is going to take more than a couple words per year. Right now it just feels like an inconsistency.

Looking back at the choices they presented it was (most of the time) oriented toward the yin/yang system, which is a difference from white = good black = bad. White / Yang also can mean brashness, righteousness and hubris. Thats why the dominance of either side is not good at all. The only point where they messed the system up is the very first "War Within" Choice.
You might compare a "whole white" Character as a zealous crusader that revels in his righteousness.
    A "sun/white" Tenno:
    smashes the scepter
lets the grineer queen slowly succumb instead of offering her a quick death
takes a girls self governance away, making a decision for her because "he knows what is right" for her

As said, I felt it was pretty consistent, the only really "good" way is that of balance.

  12. Note that this is a very personal feedback:
For me, a work too well done.

I havent played it yet, just saw it being played and at the moment wont play it even if that means shutting me out of the content, for now.

    Why?
    abandonment Issues
I have suffered through abandonment in my youth and being reminded of it too deeply is still...painfull.
After 1800+ hours in mission time I have become quiet familiar, one might say attached, to the characters. Loosing spacemom? No not happening in my universe.
Ill wait things out and see how the overall story develops and if we get her back, hoping it wont shut me out of too much content along the way. If not...I am out of luck it seems.

Dont see that as a negative feedback please but more as a praise that you managed to set up a story that hits at least some people right in feelz, something I will avoid.

But still, why wait until now?

    Spoiler

My assumption is that with the man in the wall about to be set free (or already being free) he now has something to offer Lotus for her sacrifice, namely a way to fight the man in the wall and for us to survive.
Again going off on a lot of assumptions as all of us: If the man in the wall is a avatar of the void, its "personalisation" and our power of transference stems from the void, he can likely rob us of our main weapon, the warframes and our void abilities, hence his line "without me you are nothing" (or something along those lines). My guess would be that Ballas maybe has developed a way to work around the "usual" transference (namely the umbra frames) and that is what he is offering Lotus for her body.

  14. Two things to note:

    Spoiler

-Ballas actually acknowledges that Lotus is not Margulis, in a way, "Imprisoned, just as she was." I believe, as I stated before, that Lotus, in mimicking Margulis Body, has become a sort of target for Ballas to implant Margulis soul into her, reviving her. So she is Margulis to him, as she has her body, and at the same time is not, because Margulis "soul" is not in her (yet). And also that Lotus comes along on her accord, because Ballas has offered her something that will safe us (from the man in the wall). Of course shed prefer to not give her body to him, thats why she tries to dissuade him from the idea, but only offers token resistance in the end.
-While you can pan the camera around to see her face, the Devs noted that it was just a placeholder, not meant to represent how Lotus really looks.

  15. Sorry messed up the previous message, Falconer777: The corpus are profit through exploitations, at all costs that puts them at odds with us. The benelovent Profit-Seekers would be the Perrin Sequence.

  16. My take on the story is:

    Spoiler

Natah mimicked Margulis body, so perfectly that she has been deemed a suitable Vessel for her identity/soul by Ballas.

I also dont think that he tricked her or took her by force but offered her a deal, namely some kind of knowledge/weapon against an enemy we would be otherwise helpless against, the "you are nothing without me" man in the wall. That would be both in tune with the line from the sacrifice "For their (Tenno) life, yours (Lotus)."

    That would also explain:
-Why the Apostasy Quest recquires the Chains of Harrow quest, as it informs us that the person who kept the man in the wall at bay is no more
-Why Ballas waited up until now to get her. He likely (as he seems to dwell in the void himself) took note of what happened and saw it as a chance to approach Lotus as he now had something she (or rather we) would need.
My take on us being there is that Lotus either doesnt trust Ballas OR (more likely) wants to backstab him, sneaking us in as a hidden/cloaked observer to know what happened (I dont think Ballas knows we are there and Lotus doesnt acknowledges us as to not give us away) so we could pick up the trail and break her out once Ballas has fullfilled his end of the deal.

    @Falconer777

  17. Nearing my sixty (normal) B rotation in an attempt to get my final Khora Piece, I am firm in my belief that I am punished for playing sanctuary onslaught, at least on the normal level. You dont get any mods, credits and resources, the captura "rewards" dont have any use beyond the first time you get them and all the other rewards are what you would get playing normal missions.

So basically you loose out on the credits, materials, mods and even the ability to scan for codex entries that you would do during normal missions, for what?

I cant really put into words how much each rotation another of the crappy relics, endo or captura rewards shows instead of the one piece makes me more and more frustrated. I even ragequitted several times by now (running solo). To consider that other parts in elite haven an even lower drop chance...no way ill be touching that.
